"our Kind of Movie": The Films of Andy Warhol

An engaging crooner, TV personality, and entrepreneur, Andy Williams was one of the most bankable and popular singers of his era. With his laid-back delivery, supple voice, and amiable charm, Williams rode a wave of success that took him from a childhood vocal act with his brothers to worldwide fame as a solo artist, eventually finding latter-day success as a theater impresario in Branson, Missouri. He started out as a crooner in the post-Frank Sinatra style, and scored his most recognizable hit with his version of Henry Mancini's Breakfast at Tiffany's theme "Moon River" off 1962's Moon River & Other Great Movie Themes. The Velvet Underground was an American rock band formed in New York City in 1964 by singer/guitarist Lou Reed, multi-instrumentalist John Cale, guitarist Sterling Morrison, and drummer Angus MacLise (replaced by Moe Tucker in 1965). The band was initially active between 1965 and 1973, and was briefly managed by the pop artist Andy Warhol, serving as the house band at the Factory and Warhol's Exploding Plastic Inevitable events from 1966 to 1967. Their debut album, The Velvet Underground & Nico (with German-born singer and model Nico), was released in 1967 to critical indifference and poor sales but has become critically acclaimed; in 2003, Rolling Stone called it the "most prophetic rock album ever made."

The song undulates with progressive dexterity characterised by a fuzzy bass driven groove which once again features the haunting vocals and lyrics of Maiah Wynne seasoned with Alex Lifeson “sound – scaping” guitar tones and classic outro solo.
