The film opens with the Russian space station Mir being struck by a powerful electrical surge, which is then transmitted to Russian research ship. The ship is disabled and all on board apparently abandon ship. A tugboat, captained by Robert Everton (Donald Sutherland), loses its uninsured cargo, which was the captain's last chance to get out of debt. The tugboat crew happens upon the derelict and decide the ship, loaded with valuable electronics, would be worth a small fortune in salvage. However, they find a surviving female crewmember, Nadia Vinogradiya (Joanna Pacula), ruining their chance of salvaging the ship (it would have to be completely abandoned for their plan to work legally).

Thomas Crown, a young, handsome millionaire pulls off the perfect crime by having five men rob a bank and dump the money - approx. $2.6 million - in a trash can, which Crown retrieves later and stores in a Geneva bank. Vicki Anderson, an independent insurance investigator, is contracted to investigate the heist. As she digs deeper into the case she begins to suspect Crown's involvement. In an attempt to get closer she begins seeing Crown socially, openly telling him she is investigating him. Their relationship evolves into an affair; this affair however is threatened by Vicki's moral obligation to bring Thomas Crown to justice. Crown decides to organize another caper for the sheer sake of rebelling against the authority. He asks Vicki to join him in his flight afterwards, but she betrays him to her contractors. Moving in to make the arrest, she finds Crown sent a messenger in his place with a salutation. Crown is then shown flying away in a jet, a smile on his face.

Thomas Crown est apparemment un milliardaire honnête, fréquentant les meilleurs clubs de Boston, séduisant et séducteur. Mais à l'aide de quelques complices, il organise le hold-up du siècle en dévalisant en plein jour la banque située en face de chez lui. Après avoir déposé le magot en Suisse, sa route croise celle de Vicky, une détective employée par la compagnie d'assurance de la banque. Très vite, cette dernière le soupçonne. Elle se lie à lui, devient sa maîtresse et se trouve alors partagée entre l'amour et sa conscience professionnelle. Elle oublie cependant que Crown est tout sauf naïf.

Régulièrement, elle écrit à Frankie une fausse lettre signée de la main de son soi-disant père racontant ses aventures dans des pays exotiques. Mais Frankie découvre que le fameux bateau est sur le point d'accoster dans la ville où il se trouve actuellement. Lizzie doit alors choisir entre dire la vérité à Frankie et trouver un parfait inconnu pour jouer, l'espace d'une journée, le rôle de son père.

A popular French comic strip of the 1950s becomes a candy-colored feature film in this race-car adventure. The Leaders and the Vaillants are rival families of Formula One car drivers, the former group devious and cutthroat, the latter benevolent and amiable. But when the hallowed Le Mans 24-hour race is at hand, both clans find that they'll resort to anything to win. With many of its scenes filmed at the real Le Mans race in the summer of 2002, Michel Vaillant was co-produced by international crossover success Luc Besson.

The film opens with the French national soccer team’s victory over the Chinese national soccer team, the murder of French coach Yves Gluant (Jason Statham), and the disappearance of his Pink Panther diamond ring. Chief Inspector Charles Dreyfus (Kevin Kline), eager to win the Légion d'honneur (translated as the "Medal of Honor" in the film), appoints the "most incompetent policeman" in France, Inspector Jacques Clouseau (Steve Martin), to the case as a diversion. Dreyfus, meanwhile, assembles a team of investigators to tackle the mystery in secret, planning to take over the case and win the Légion d'honneur. Dreyfus also appoints Gendarme Gilbert Ponton (Jean Reno) to report on Clouseau's whereabouts at all times.
