This Festschrift volume, published in honor of Symeon Bozapalidis on the occasion of his retirement after more than 35 years of teaching activity, focuses on the subjects taught by Symeon, namely: algebra, linear algebra, mathematical logic, number theory, automata theory, tree languages and series, algebraic semantics, and fuzzy languages.

This Festschrift is dedicated to Ralf Steinmetz on the occasion of his retirement. The honoree is a full professor at the Technical University of Darmstadt in Germany, where he leads the Multimedia Communications lab. He has supervised over 105 successful PhD students and remains committed to his vision of achieving “seamless adaptive multimedia communications.” He has been widely recognized for his contributions to the field, prestigious accolades include an Honorary Doctorate from RWTH Aachen University and a Chair of Excellence at the University Carlos III de Madrid. He is also a fellow of several esteemed professional organizations, including the IEEE, the ACM, the GI, and the VDE ITG.

This Festschrift volume, published in honor of Nissim Francez on the occasion of his 65th birthday, contains 15 papers, written by friends and colleagues, many of whom congregated at a celebratory symposium held on May 24-25, 2009, in Haifa, Israel.
The theme of the symposium was Languages: From Formal to Natural, reflecting the focus of Nissim Francez' research career, which started in program verification and the semantics of programming languages and later concentrated on natural languages and computational linguistics. The papers included in this volume cover the entire spectrum of this field of research.

This Festschrift, dedicated to Klaus Havelund on the occasion of his 65th birthday, celebrated in 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, contains papers written by many of his closest friends and collaborators.
