Six years ago, I quit my job to make music my full time job. As fate would have it, this happened shortly after the untimely death of my father - an event that turned into a song called Rough Spring which is now the title song of an album with 12 original songs on it, that will be released at Mojo Blues Bar on this date. It was one of the Mojo Blues Bar owners that convinced me to start playing acoustic solo gigs to help pay my bills, which brought me on the path to making this album. That combined with the fact that I have been playing at Mojo Blues Bar for more than 25 years, makes this the perfect venue for this release. I hope you'll join me for a small celebration and concert.

Many piano trios reach back to past masters for inspiration, playing in the style of Bud Powell, Bill Evans, Oscar Peterson. Others craft their sounds under the influence of contemporary players: Herbie Hancock, Brad Mehldau, McCoy Tyner, Kenny Barron, Ahmad Jamal. On the other hand, the occasional piano trio comes down the road rolling its own idiosyncratic way. Pianist Florian Hoefner is one of the latter group, with his immersion in "the ethos of traditional songs and the high lonesome sound of Bluegrass," on his first trio outing, First Spring.

Holy Spring is the second solo album by Australian percussionist, drummer and composer Laurence Pike - an article of faith, expressing the sense that the ritual of performance can transcend the confines of style, structure and concept to connect with something universal.

Jazz musicians are a gloriously democratic mob – but some jazz audiences (Gauteng, I’m looking at you here) and self-appointed critics can be less so. It ought to be enough that the music is rich with improvisation, and infused with African groove or American swing – or very often both.

The Frost Duo is considered to be a multi genre group from Pennsylvania. The group composed,played and produced all their music. The album is a mix of Rock/adult contemporary and country/Americana.

Like the cool breeze to be expected in the following months ahead, as the sun begins to make its presence known once again, this 25 track release encompasses the chilled aura of our previous compilations while bringing a warmth to be enjoyed wherever you may be.
