Книга "Империя Петра Великого 1700-1725 гг." продолжает серию книг "Россия - путь сквозь века". "Беспримерная в истории деятельность Петра сообщила Русскому государству новую жизнь и новые силы, и едва ли какой-либо государь нового мира имеет большие права на наименование Великого", - писал о Петре русский историк 19 века Дм.Иловайский. 22 октября 1721 г. Петр I принял императорский титул. Наше государство на более чем двухсотлетний период стало называться Российской империей. Его завоевания заставили считаться с Россией сильнейшие державы мира, позволили ей на равных участвовать в международных отношениях. Самый большой памятник царствованию Петра - город Санкт-Петербург, новая столица российского государства, воздвигнутая его повелением и при его непосредственном участии.

The album, which is being released by Supraphon in its Music of the 18th-century Prague series, is focused on works by the important lutenist and composer, Count Jan Antonín Losy (1651–1721), looking at them from an unusual point of view. The album, aptly called Losy, Weiss: Lute Music in Prague and Vienna, circa 1700, also presents compositions originally written for lute, in alternative but original period versions. Historical instruments player, teacher, researcher and producer Jan Čižmář recorded the music with the Polish {oh!} Ensemble, headed by violinist Martyna Pastuszka. The result is a revealing album premiering some of Losy’s lute compositions in unusual and varied sound versions and is being released by Supraphon on 24 May 2024 on CD and in digital formats.

Architectural Temperance examines relations between Bourbon Spain and papal Rome (1700-1759) through the lens of cultural politics. With a focus on key Spanish architects sent to study in Rome by the Bourbon Kings, the book also discusses the establishment of a program of architectural education at the newly founded Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando in Madrid.

Following on from the noteworthy al-bum ‘1600', released in 2012, ‘1700' is a vibrant homage to Italian Baroque, in which Rinaldo Alessandrini has brought together the most outstand-ing Italian composers of the first half of the eighteenth century: Locatelli, Mascitti, Vivaldi, Caldara, Durante, Ga-luppi and Pugnani. All of these com-posers went into exile, serv-ing prestigious foreign courts. They each evolved the ‘Italian style,’ based either on their own tastes or those of the country in which they had taken refuge. Each composer created his own share of wonders, to which Maestro Alessandrini’s intelligent and re-fined interpretation brings a passionate fresh perspective.
