Modena, Italy-based power metal band Trick Or Treat will issue their sixth full-length studio album The Legend Of The XII Saints on April 24th, 2020 through Scarlet Records. The Legend Of The XII Saints is a concept album freely inspired by the anime Saint Seya, created in 1985 by Masami Kurumada, and more precisely on The Legend of the 12 Gold Saints of the Zodiac saga. The outing features 12 main compositions, one for every zodiac sign, with each track a monographic work that delves into the personality of the knights and the compelling plot that binds all the characters to the goddess Athena. The song ‘Gemini: Another Dimension’ features guest vocals from Beast In Black singer Yannis Papadopoulos. The Legend Of The XII Saints was produced by Eddy Cavazza and Trick Or Treat. Cavazza was also responsible for mixing and mastering duties. Cover artwork was once again created by vocalist Alessandro Conti.

In addition to its stated purpose of paying tribute, a tribute album presenting a variety of cover versions of songs associated with a major artist may also demonstrate the artist's influence on others and the quality of the artist's songs as performed in ways other than the original versions. The Putumayo World Music label has specialized in genre samplers of a given musical style as performed by various artists, but here changes its approach by having various artists from different styles perform the songs of "a reggae legend." Actually, "the reggae legend" is what the title should say, since, of course, the legend in question is Bob Marley. The artists are from Hawaii, the continental U.S., Canada, Brazil, Ghana, South Africa, India, and Sierra Leone. For the most part, they succeed in paying tribute and demonstrating Marley's influence on them, but they do not show off his talent as a writer by performing his songs in different ways.
As if John Legend’s voice wasn’t already like listening to several thousand black angels sing in harmony, the musician is releasing a Christmas album filled to the brim with classics. A Legendary Christmas, executive-produced by Raphael Saadiq, is due just before Halloween (October 26) at which point not having the halls decked becomes a crime.
This double-disc reissue documents one of the more curious careers in country music. Both 1978's White Mansions and 1980's The Legend of Jesse James are Southern song cycles that were conceived by Britain's Paul Kennerley, then an unknown songwriter who somehow recruited a high-profile cast for each. A Civil War saga from the Southern perspective, White Mansions suffers from caricature and cliché but benefits from signature contributions by Waylon Jennings, Jessi Colter, and Eric Clapton. Jesse James has more focus and narrative momentum, with Levon Helm, Johnny Cash, and Emmylou Harris in lead roles. Though the albums are more noteworthy for artistic ambition than memorable material, Kennerley subsequently became a successful Nashville songwriter.
