Danny Wright has bad luck: his only child has died, he's lost his job, his wife may be losing faith in him, and a tree has just fallen through his kitchen. But he's a gee-whiz optimist, on his way to Mexico City to pitch a deal. When complications arise, he has to stay a few days, and his path criss-crosses that of Julian Noble, a burned-out executioner (don't call him a hit man, he facilitates fatalities) who constantly drinks, smokes, and chases women of all ages. They chat at a bar, Julian is offensive; they spend the day at the bullfights, Julian asks for help with a killing. Danny is repelled and entertained. Where can this relationship go?

Former Chicago cop turned bounty hunter, Jack Walsh, is sent to retrieve former Mob accountant, Jonathan "The Duke" Mardukas, who recently jumped bail. Though the FBI have been hot on his trail for awhile, Mardukas has evaded their attempts to recapture him. However, as Walsh closes in on Mardukas, Mardukas is forced to flee cross-country to L.A., where, once there, in a twist of events, he actually befriends Walsh, complicating the FBI's and rival bounty hunter, Marvin's alterior plans.

Set on the streets of New York's Little Italy, this dramatic series of character studies chronicles the lives and relationships between a disparate pair of Italian American cousins. Charlie et Paulie sont deux cousins italiens, sans argent, endettés, et qui partagent les mêmes rêves de richesse. Il organisent un casse pour dérober 150 000 dollars, mais un flic ripou est accidentellement tué pendant le vol. Ajoutez à cela que l'argent en question appartenait à un caïd du nom de Bedbug Eddie et le tableau se noircit soudain pour les deux cousins… Adapté du roman de Vincent Patrick par le romancier lui-même, Le Pape de Greenwich Village est un pur film new-yorkais, qui dépeint cette ville et ses bas-fonds avec chaleur et passion. Les interprètes donnent beaucoup d'eux-mêmes dans cette fable désespérée, Mickey Rourke (dans l'un de ses meilleurs rôles) et Eric Roberts (le frère de Julia) en tête. Enfin, la bande originale contribue à rendre l'atmosphère de ce film sombre étrange et unique et à créer une ambiance lourde qui plaira aux amateurs du genre.

On one such occasion, business friends cajole him into joining them on a drunken retreat to a dacha in the Moscow woods near Peredelkino. Discussion turns to politics, and Barley finds himself talking boldly of patriotism and courage, of a New World Order (this prior to the break-up of the Soviet Union), and an end to Cold-War tensions. One attentive listener ("Goethe" in the book, "Dante" in the film) asks him privately whether he truly believes in the possibility of such a world. Barley convincingly says that he does.

Thomas Crown, a young, handsome millionaire pulls off the perfect crime by having five men rob a bank and dump the money - approx. $2.6 million - in a trash can, which Crown retrieves later and stores in a Geneva bank. Vicki Anderson, an independent insurance investigator, is contracted to investigate the heist. As she digs deeper into the case she begins to suspect Crown's involvement. In an attempt to get closer she begins seeing Crown socially, openly telling him she is investigating him. Their relationship evolves into an affair; this affair however is threatened by Vicki's moral obligation to bring Thomas Crown to justice. Crown decides to organize another caper for the sheer sake of rebelling against the authority. He asks Vicki to join him in his flight afterwards, but she betrays him to her contractors. Moving in to make the arrest, she finds Crown sent a messenger in his place with a salutation. Crown is then shown flying away in a jet, a smile on his face.

Thomas Crown est apparemment un milliardaire honnête, fréquentant les meilleurs clubs de Boston, séduisant et séducteur. Mais à l'aide de quelques complices, il organise le hold-up du siècle en dévalisant en plein jour la banque située en face de chez lui. Après avoir déposé le magot en Suisse, sa route croise celle de Vicky, une détective employée par la compagnie d'assurance de la banque. Très vite, cette dernière le soupçonne. Elle se lie à lui, devient sa maîtresse et se trouve alors partagée entre l'amour et sa conscience professionnelle. Elle oublie cependant que Crown est tout sauf naïf.
