Nel Magazzino 18 del Porto Vecchio di Trieste riposano montagne di sedie, armadi, letti, e poi lettere, fotografie, pagelle, diari, reti da pesca, pianoforti, martelli. Oggetti ammassati dagli italiani d'Istria, Fiume e Dalmazia un attimo prima di trasformarsi in esuli, quando le loro terre furono consegnate alla Jugoslavia di Tito nel 1947. Cristicchi spalanca le porte di quel magazzino per raccontare la tragedia dimenticata di quelle persone, le foibe, le esecuzioni sommarie, la vita da profughi, lo sradicamento e la perdita dell'identità.
