Ike & Tina Turner was an American musical duo consisting of husband and wife Ike Turner and Tina Turner. From 1960 to 1976, they performed live as the Ike & Tina Turner Revue, supported by Ike Turner's band, the Kings of Rhythm, and backing vocalists, the Ikettes. The Ike & Tina Turner Revue was regarded as "one of the most potent live acts on the R&B circuit."

Although the quintet featured on this CD reissue from the Italian Red label was one of trumpeter Woody Shaw's finest, it failed to make much of an impact before breaking up. Teamed with trombonist Steve Turre, pianist Mulgrew Miller, bassist Stafford James and drummer Tony Reedus for an Italian concert, Shaw stretches out on two of his originals plus "You And The Night And The Music" and "We'll Be Together Again"; all four of the numbers clock in between 10-12 minutes apiece. High-quality advanced hard bop.

Maria Callas was one of the most controversial singers of the twentieth century. She had a wide range from high E to the F below the staff, and an innate feel for the style of bel canto roles, but she was most notable for bringing a commitment and intensity to her dramatic portrayals that was nearly unprecedented at the time. Using photorealistic video projection, Callas was brought back to the stage for a new tour in 2018. 17 years ago, the melodic rockers Hotwire, who were quite an institution in the local scene in the 90s, parted ways. Hotwire was founded in 1993 and they quickly gained a solid fan base in Melodic Rock circles, also through numerous shows with bands such as Bonfire, Jaded Heart or Crystal Ball. In 2001 they were even on a big European tour with Shakra and Domain. Later they went on tour with Pretty Maids. In 1995, Bonfire members Claus Lessmann and Hans Ziller took Hotwire under their wing and produced their self-titled debut album. The album ‘Face Another Day‘ followed three years later.
