Max Reger is best known for vast, abstract keyboard works in fugue and variation form. But alongside these masterful constructions his creativity also turned to more introspective album pages that reveal an entirely different side to his character. The influence of Schumann can be found in the first of his Improvisationen alongside echoes of Brahms and Chopin in the Six Morceaux. We also encounter rhapsodic miniatures from Aus meinem Tagebuch and the popular Maria-Wiegenlied, with the late collection Träume am Kamin appearing as a self-confessional summary of Reger’s career and style.

As the new exclusive artist of Deutsche Grammophon, the South Korean soprano Hera Hyesang Park presents all her facets vocally on her debut album and convinces both tonally and programmatically. “I am Hera” is an impressive Album that touches on many levels. Perhaps it is the reflection of her own career that accompanied the soprano in the creation of the recordings and that charges her interpretations with great emotional authenticity.

I AM is the combination of Isaiah Collier on Woodwinds and Michael Shekwoaga Ode on Drums. This album was recorded on June 23rd, 2021 at Chicago Recording Company. This recording was inspired partly by a solo exchange between the duo during the 5th movement on the acclaimed Cosmic Transitions, entitled "Mercury's Retrograde".
