It spans a few genres, it is slick, fast-paced, realistic and, importantly, very funny. In this "smart comedy" set in 1999, all the characters are bound by a common feeling of being stuck at 99 in life - just one short of a 'century'- that elusive thing called "making it" in life! 99 is an unpredictable and hilarious ride spread over two cities with colourful characters, unbelievable circumstances, small-time crooks, big-time conspiracies, fateful car crashes, loads of coffee, a briefcase full of money, a budding romance… …and a historical controversy brewing in the background!"

New inmate Marie arrives at an island prison in the women's sector and receives the number 99. The inmates are controlled by the sadistic lesbian warden Thelma Diaz and Governor Santos and submitted to torture, rape and lesbianism. When the Minister of Justice replaces Diaz by Leonie Caroll, Marie believes that her life will improve and her case will be reopened. However, Marie is disappointed with the new warden and decides to escape with two other inmates. But their runaway scheme fails and the three women are chased not only by the guards, but also by male prisoners that have not seen women for many years.

Octave est le maître du monde : Octave exerce la profession de rédacteur publicitaire. Il décide aujourd'hui ce que vous allez vouloir demain. Pour lui, "l'homme est un produit comme les autres". Octave travaille pour la plus grosse agence de pub du monde : Ross & Witchcraft surnommée "La Ross". Il est couvert d'argent, de filles et de cocaïne. Pourtant, il doute. Deux événements vont bouleverser le cours de la vie d'Octave. Son histoire d'amour avec Sophie, la plus belle employée de l'agence, et une réunion chez Madone pour vendre un film de pub à ce géant du produit laitier. Le doué Octave déjante alors et décide de se rebeller contre le système qui l'a créé, en sabotant sa plus grande campagne. De Paris, où négocient les patrons d'agences, à Miami, où l'on tourne un spot sous Prozac, de Saint-Germain-des-Prés à une île perdue d'Amérique Centrale, Octave parviendra-t-il à échapper à sa prison dorée?

Here it is, Jesus Franco's classic Women In Prison epic 99 Women, which includes the Unrated Director's Cut of the film, and all the extra footage from the R1 DVD on Blue Underground! The chicks are all hot as hell, the story is well done and somewhat emotional, and the acting (especially from Mercedes McCambridge and Herbert Lom) is stellar across the board. The extras include a short documentary about Franco (with soft VobSub or .srt subs to choose from), two deleted scenes, the original US trailer, and an alternate ending from the Spanish cut of the film (which also includes both soft VobSub or .srt subs).
