Listen was the second album release by the UK new wave band A Flock of Seagulls, released in 1983. It teamed the musical group with record producer Mike Howlett again, except on the single release "(It's Not Me) Talking" which was produced by Bill Nelson. The record included the UK Top 10 hit "Wishing (If I Had a Photograph of You)". The cassette version and the 1992 CD version (on the Beehive label) have the original LP tracks in a slightly different order, with the additional tracks "Rosenmontag", "Quicksand", and "The Last Flight of Yuri Gagarin" interspersed (although the track listing for the CD edition, printed on the inserts and the disc itself, incorrectly follows the LP track listing above rather than reflecting the disc's actual contents).

A Flock Of Seagulls combined a striking image with memorable, synthesiser-based music. In Britain their biggest and best remember hit ‘Wishing (I Had A Photograph Of You)’ hit the Top Ten in late 1982, some months after their single ‘I Ran (So Far Away)’ was a similar hit in the USA. Both hits feature on this comprehensive 36 track collection along with all the singles, classic album tracks and extended versions.

A History of Japan: From Stone Age to Superpower

A History of Japan: From Stone Age to Superpower by Kenneth G. Henshall
English | PDF | 2004 | 277 Pages | ISBN : 1403912726 | 0.8 MB

In a rare combination of comprehensive coverage and sustained critical focus, this book examines Japanese history in its entirety to identify the factors underlying the nation's progression to superpower status. Japan's achievement is explained not merely in economic terms, but at a more fundamental level, as a product of historical patterns of response to circumstance. Japan is shown to be a nation historically impelled by a pragmatic determination to succeed. The book also highlights unresolved questions and little-known facts.
