After independently leaving The Spencer Davis Group in late 1968, organist and singer Eddie Hardin and drummer Pete York got back together a few months later to work as that most intriguing of late Sixties rock music concepts: the power duo.
Self-described as “the world's smallest big band”, Hardin & York's two-man brand of rock, blues, jazz and soul – not a million miles away from the likes of Traffic or Procol Harum - was hugely popular on the Continent. Indeed, they had such a following in Germany that one show was surreptitiously taped, becoming one of the earliest European vinyl bootlegs when it was sneaked out in 1970.
Naturally enough, that live set is included on our definitive 6-CD anthology, together with further live performances (including a 1972 show for the BBC now gaining its first-ever commercial release), their trio of 1969-71 albums, various studio out-takes and even a non-UK 1974 reunion LP that was recorded with former Taste bassist Charlie McCracken. A 6-CD package, Can't Keep A Good Man Down is the final word on one of the most intriguing musical partnerships of the late Sixties/early Seventies. Coming from the genius mind of Michael J.V. Hensley (Yen Pox & Hollow Earth), Blood Box became a sort of cult for the dark ambient freaks thanks to CD "A World of Hurt", whose monstrously deep droning ambient created an ideal soundtrack to the apocalypse.

Digitally remastered collection. Originally a Northern Irish, London based quintet with an American singer, the band got together following the demise of The Undertones. Too late for Punk, too early for Grunge, That Petrol Emotion's output merged well-written melodic tunes with political statement. Singles and albums received rapturous reviews, gigs were sold-out joyous affairs. The band were always difficult to categorize and impossible to load onto a bandwagon, although no one could accuse the band of dabbling. As this collection shows, across the course of their ten years together, the quality of their songwriting never let up. With full co-operation from the band, this comprehensive 121 track 7 CD collection brings together all five of their studio albums plus a typically energy-packed live recording from May 1994. It celebrates a body of work that has stood the test of time and - all these years later - undoubtedly still deserves a wider audience.

Le Fil is the second album by French singer Camille. The title translates as "The Thread". The album features a 'tone', a low-level drone that is in the background of every song, which Camille has described as 'her note'. The note is a B. The singer also mentioned that many people returned the record, thinking this sound was a fault with the recording. The title also arises due to the similar word 'fille' or girl which arises in a lot of the songs. It was first released in 2005, and reissued in 2006 in the United States, the UK and Australia with four extra tracks. The final track on the original version, "Quand je marche", runs for close to 39 minutes. The actual song is only four minutes in duration, but the tone extends for over 30 minutes after it has ended. The final 30 seconds contain Camille speaking in French. It has been most frequently compared to Björk's Medúlla, for Camille's use of her voice as an instrument in innovative ways.
