Alan Sorrenti is an Italian singer and composer. Actually, he started as an experimental progressive rock performer, releasing two great albums called "Aria" (1972) and "Come un vecchio incensiere all'alba di un villaggio deserto" (1973), where he showed extraordinary vocal abilities. His third, self-titled album (1974) is usually considered the least convincing of Alan's early production, despite some very good tracks, his style slowly shifting toward more a more mainstream song format. For progressive fans, checking "Aria" out is recommended, expecially the long, wandering progressive suite title track, which lasts for about 20 minutes.

With his second album, Alan Sorrenti reached the most complex and brutal vocal experiment in all his career. The album's structure is similar to the previous Aria, a little bit extended being over 46 minutes of music and divided between the whole side's self titled epic (side two - 23 min.) and shorter and simpler songs.
For the recording sessions of the album he went to London and was helped by other famous guest musicians as Van der Graaf Generator sax hero David Jackson, who played flute and by Curved Air's member Francis Monkman on synthesizer, piano and electric guitar. Differently from Aria, his voice appears more nervous and complicated passing through stronger dissonances and unusual noises and strange sounds…

The stories that never end: Jenny Sorrenti and the Saint Just It is not important when the stories begin but if at the time the stories are finished or continue … in good health, not as a tired repetition of a past, albeit important. In the case of Jenny Sorrenti, the soul of Saint Just, his expressive urgency was so strong as to publish an atypical album like this PROG EXPLOSION AND OTHER STORIES, which includes the 2011 album, in fact PROG EXPLOSION, published by Raro! Records only limited vinyl, plus four snapshots recorded in the studio in the second half of 2017, just the "other stories".

This summer, dive with us into the often-overlooked sea of late ‘70s/early ’80s Italian Soul, AOR and Disco. Compiled by journalist, producer and digger extraordinaire David Nerattini (with a little help from our own Pierpaolo De Sanctis), PAISA’ GOT SOUL is the smooth and near-danceable soundtrack to a decade that is somehow still with us. A time of gentle grooves, summer loves and sweet escapism – one beautifully captured by Claude Nori in his photographs of Italian beaches and summer holidays. Welcome to the mood of an era.
