Craig Pruess is a versatile American composer, musician, arranger and gold & platinum record producer who has been living in Britain since 1973. His career has covered diverse areas including:record production and arranging for international stars such as Sir Cliff Richard, Anu Malik, Sheila Walsh (Grammy nominated album: "War of Love"); feature film soundtrack music ("It's a Wonderful Afterlife", "Bride & Prejudice", "Bend It Like Beckham", "The Mistress of Spices", "What's Cooking?", "Bhaji on the Beach").

Josephine Davies continues to assert her unique presence across the crowded landscape of international jazz with the latest release from the acclaimed trio project that she has been developing since 2016 under the name of Satori. This latest iteration reunites her with two of the UK’s most uncategorisable talents: both Dave Whitford on bass and James Maddren on drums combine a fearsome level of accomplishment with a fearless appetite for improvisation that makes them the perfect partners in this venture.

This compilation was inspired by "Jazz Juice". That it is part of the revived Blue Series is ironic. What we are doing is rounding up a vast array of jazz, soul and latin grooves from EMI's vaults.
We have monstrously rare sitar-funk on Ananda Shankar, the obscure Tina Britt's take of Don Covoy's "Sookie, Sookie" and the latin jazz extravaganza of Norman Connor's "Samba For Maria" featuring Blue Note mainstay Freddie Hubbard on trumpet.
For those amused by the quirky, the presence of Cliff Richard is around with Shadow's drummer Brian Bennett, whose "Soul Mission" is lifted from his incredibly rare "Greater London Noise" LP. At the other end of the scale we have a million seller albeit as a В side - in Bobby Gentry's Memphis soaked "Mississippi Delta"
