In this release, Kagero examines the operational history of the US Navy's air superiority aircraft during WW2, the Grumman F6F Hellcat. Published in both Polish and English, the author walks the reader through the initial design of the fighter through the highlights of its operational history, but starts off with VF-11's experiences just to get your interest.
The coverage includes: Sundowners F6Fs; Nuts and Bolts; Great Balls of Fire Over Land & Sea; Zero's Worst Nightmare; Mount Fuji in Sight; British Hellcats; Camouflage & Markings.
In addition to the operational history of the aircraft, the title has line drawings of the F6F in 1/48 and 1/72 as well as a nice color photo walk around. Coverage of this part ends with some excellent color profiles of the aircraft.

Covers the development and combat history of this WWII US fighter. 33 pages of the book are devoted to technical drawings. There are 1/48 and 1/72 scale drawings supplemented with larger scrap views detailing specific parts of interest. These are all very well done. In addition to these, though, Kagero includes a series of drawings that point out the specific differences between Wildcat variants. The distinguishing factors are illustrated with shading and in text form, for both US and British variants. Eight pages of attractive colour profiles, plus six pages of colour walkaround photos round out this publication.

Details the full story of the Nakajima built Ki-27 (the name 'Nate' was given to it by the Allies as a means of easy identification, although it was also called Abdul in the China Burma India Theater of World War II). It also gives a complete explanation of how the designations used by the Japanese Army Air Force came about and what they mean.
The book begins with a period background of the world and the development of fighter aircraft in Japan. From there, it discusses the Ki-27's competition as well as its development and employment from the early stages and its operational use from its introduction in the China theatre in 1938 to its almost suicidal combat with the US Navy's F4U Corsairs and F6F Hellcats in the final days of WWII.
Camouflage and markings are also covered and a full explanation is offered for the all-of the different schemes worn by the Ki-27. Again, excellent information on a complex subject fully explained. The book is well illustrated with fifty full colour profile paintings as well as fifty two scrap views showing the squadron markings on the tails.
The book is profusely illustrated throughout with black and white photos. Whilst a few of them are reasonably well known, the vast majority of them are newly published. The quality ranges from excellent sharp and clear ones that look to have been taken by professional photographers to what look like snapshots taken by members of the squadrons themselves.

Arguably the best pure fighter of the 109 family, this volume covers the 'Friedrich' design, prototypes, testing, serial production and combat record over the English Channel front. Includes 16 full color profiles and 24 pages of excerpts from German technical manuals.
