Edinburgh resident Steve Adey is blessed with a voice which teeters between Feargal Sharkey and Paul Buchanan, the latter’s band being an especially pertinent touchstone for The Tower of Silence – recorded in a 19th century church in Edinburgh. All told, there are three attempts to produce a new ‘Easter Parade’ while the production gig is taken by Calum Malcolm, who helped give the Blue Nile their special brand of lush austerity.

Voice Of Wind: Adey is the first volume in our modular female solo vocal series Voices Of Wind. Each volume focuses on a new vocalist with a distinct creative style and comes complete with a full package of vital chromatic and melodic articulations that sound great and are easy and convenient to use in any music or video production project that comes your way.

Steve Adey’s third studio album, Do Me a Kindness, will be released on Vinyl, CD and Digital Download on July 28th. The album contains nine cover songs plus an adaptation of a poem by Hermann Hesse. The album marks Steve’s first release in four years, following on from the critically acclaimed ‘The Tower of Silence’ (The Sunday Times – Album of the week).
Do Me a Kindness was recorded in a 19th century Edinburgh church, with further tracking and mixing at Steve’s home studio utilising mostly vintage equipment.

Linda’s journey starts in Manchester, where a 19-year-old student was held up against a wall by university security staff demanding to see his ID because, according to the student, they think he is a drug dealer and not a university student.
