Famous comedian Ismail Yassin meets a mad scientist who wants to take his brain and use it to bring a mummy back to life (although the 'mummy' in this case looks more like the Frankenstein monster). Along the way, Ismail and his sidekick Abdel Fattah run into Dracula and the Wolfman and involve themselves in a series of goofy shenanigans.

Questa circostanza, oltre alla parentela data dall’appartenere entrambi “alla famiglia degli scrittori”, all’essere stati tutti e due nella selezione del Nobel (con quel che significava per un autore proveniente da un paese socialista) ma, soprattutto, il fatto di aver entrambi ricevuto una telefonata dal sanguinario dittatore del proprio paese, ha spinto Kadare a ricostruire la storia della terribile telefonata di Stalin a Pasternak..

These young musicians from Egypt, Turkey, Portugal and Italy bridge the distance between the shores and sonic worlds of a rapidly changing region. Their first album, recorded in Paris, blends both timbres and backgrounds in a unique artistic collaboration with Festival d’Aix-en-Provence, supported by Abu Dhabi Festival. The composition process is a compromise between the written score — the notes on the stave — with an exclusively oral tradition, in which the theme is developed only by those taking part, first by listening to it and then by repeating it. Their music is influenced by the folk music of each country and by much improvisation and jazz, and uses melodies from the European classical tradition blended with rhythms and instruments of the Middle East.

On paper, the mid-nineteenth century Egyptian army seems a formidable regional power. It had a tradition of success, modern weapons, and mercenary officers with experience in major wars. Egypt's ruler, Khedive Ismail, hoped to combine the imported technology and brains with native manpower, and establish an Egyptian dominated Horn of Africa. His soldiers did conquer parts of the Sudan, but they suffered disastrous defeats during the Egyptian Abyssinian War of 1875 to 1876.
