Revelators Sound System is the collaborative musical project of MC Taylor (Hiss Golden Messenger) and Cameron Ralston. Recorded throughout 2020 and 2021, largely at Taylor's home in Durham, NC and Richmond, Virginia's Spacebomb studio, where Ralston serves as the house bassist, the album is a deep meditation on community that caroms from root-down avant-funk and spiritual groove to solitary cosmic minimalism and twinkling dubby ambience. Importantly—most importantly—Revelators is a deeply emotional record, the running soundtrack to a world in confusion.

The Source is credited to Afro Celt Sound System. Depending on how a court decides, this may or may not be that band. The split between founding members Simon Emmerson on one side and James McNally and Martin Russell on the other is apparently so toxic it had to be litigated. This version, led by Emmerson, strikes first, offering the first new studio material from any ACSS in a decade.

Joi were at the vanguard of London's Asian Underground in the late 90's, a clubland movement that came out of Talvin Singh's weekly nights at the Blue Note, and the monthlies by the Outcaste label - a magnet for such young British Asian musicians and DJs as Joi, Asian Dub Foundation, Cornershop, Fun-da-mental and Nitin Sawhney, all of who went on to greatness.
