One of the most celebrated singer/songwriters of her generation, Nanci Griffith had a gift for writing songs that were literate and emotionally complex while also sounding thoroughly universal, even when they most often reflected small-town Texas life. A proud daughter of the Lone Star State, Griffith liked to call her music "folkabilly," reflecting her influences in folk, country, early rock & roll, and the Texas songwriting community that for her was both an inspiration and a home base. Though her music was steeped in tales of ordinary lives, she wasn't afraid to speak her mind about social and political matters, and injected a progressive sound and feeling into music that embraced traditionalism. 1984's Once in a Very Blue Moon, her third album, was the creative breakthrough where she hit her stride as a songwriter and performer, 1993's Other Voices, Other Rooms was a celebration of her influences and was a critical and commercial success, and 2004's Hearts in Mind was an ambitious collection of politically oriented songs. Collection includes: There's A Light Beyond These Woods (1978), Poet In My Window (1982), The Last of the True Believers (1986), Other Voices, Other Rooms (1993), Flyer (1994).

The soundtrack to Raiders of the Lost Ark was released by Columbia Records in 1981. The music was composed and conducted by John Williams, and performed by the London Symphony Orchestra. Orchestrations were done by Herbert W. Spencer with additional orchestrations done by Al Woodbury.

Is it too much to announce yet another CD world premiere for a singer with such a vast discography as Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau (1925-2012)? No, it truly is not. That is because the undoubtedly most important singer alongside Maria Callas and Enrico Caruso of the twentieth century (according to Die Welt newspaper) had originally forbidden a release of this live recording. The most likely reason is that this recording made on February 26, 1989 in the Deutsche Oper in Düsseldorf and featuring his fourth wife, soprano Julia Varady (born in 1941) included songs that the baritone, who was to retire from active performance in 1992, planned to record in the studio.

Les Discrets is the musical project of french illustrator Fursy Teyssier and Audrey Hadorn. Their cinematographic music combines elements from post rock to dark indie rock, trip hop with doom and folk influences.
With their debut "Septembre Et Ses Dernières Pensées" ("The Final Thoughts of September"), Fursy Teyssier and Les Discrets have created an ambitious concept album on the trinity of nature, love, and death right at the beginning of their career. This record somewhere between shoegaze, metal, and post rock is a captivating achievement far beyond a purely musical framework - a fusion of music, film, and painting resulting in an oft-attempted, but seldom-achieved total work of art.

THE CLASSIC 1981 SHOW AT BOND INTERNATIONAL CASINO NYC • In support of their 1981 album Sandinista!, The Clash played a series of 17 concerts at Bonds International Casino in New York City in May and June 1981. Due to their wide publicity, the concerts became an important moment in the history of the band. Some of the nights were recorded for FM broadcast. • The site of the concerts was formerly Bonds department store which had been converted into a large second-floor hall. Promoters kept the name because there was a large Bonds sign on the outside of the building. As The Clash had not yet broken out into mass popularity in the US, eight shows were originally scheduled: 28, 29, 30, 31 May and 1, 2, 3 and 5 June 1981. However, given the venue's legal capacity limit of 1750, the series was blatantly oversold (3500) right from the first night, leading the New York City Fire Department to cancel the Saturday, 30 May performance.

"Pull" is the fourth studio album by American pop band Mr. Mister, and the only album not to feature founding guitarist Steve Farris, who had departed the band in 1989. It was recorded from 1989 to 1990, but due to the band's being left without a record company - and subsequent breakup - the album was left unreleased until 2010, when it was remixed and released. In the intervening time, bootleg copies of the album (along with various fan-made album cover images) could be found on the Internet. In 2010, the album was finally released by Richard Page's own Little Dume Recordings label.
