Alice Merton could be considered as a sort of musical globetrotter. Raised in Canada, she finished school in Germany before moving to England with her family. Classically trained on piano since the age of five, Alice also took vocal lessons and honed her songwriting skills before meeting Berlin-based producer Nicolas Rebscher, who helped to shape what’s her sound now. Knowing her background, it should not be surprising that her first song goes after the title of No Roots and combines Alice’s intense vocals with throbbing urban-pop hooks and a bold sound.

Recorded at the conclusion of his 2009 world tour, Alice Cooper’s live album Theatre of Death finds the shock rock veteran bringing his legendary live show to London's Hammersmith Apollo. The concert features a selection of Alice’s most well known songs with a heavy emphasis on his 1975 effort Welcome to My Nightmare.

Originally a Heavy Metal band led by the delirious Vincent Damon Furnier, Alice Cooper then became the stage name of the latter when he embarked on a solo career. A pioneer of shock rock, supporting her stage performances with visual effects worthy of horror films, Alice Cooper made these staging her trademark, giving even more strength to her devilishly heady rock, and spawning many successors such as Kiss or Marilyn Manson.

Throughout the majority of her time as vocalist and frontperson for D.C. art punk band Priests, Katie Alice Greer was also working on far more experimental solo material. When her solo tracks, one-off collaborations with other artists, or EP releases cropped up occasionally, they often took the form of harsh, overblown electronics or slow-moving noise, a wildly different approach than the relatively straightforward, guitar-heavy bombast of her main band. When Priests dissolved in late 2019, Greer relocated from D.C. to L.A. right at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, focusing on solo work that would expand on the experimental spirit that incubated on those earlier releases.
