A British pop singer known for her rich, remarkably bluesy voice, Alison Moyet sang in the short-lived, hit alternative dance group Yazoo before returning to the top of the U.K. album chart with her 1984 solo debut, Alf. It included "Invisible," her only Top 40 hit in the U.S. She went on to become a steady presence on the U.K. charts, however, with each of her studio albums reaching at least the Top 30. Sticking with a primarily synth-driven adult pop for her first few albums, she eventually experimented with lusher arrangements, including strings on 2002's Hometime, and took on standards with 2004's Voice. Released in 2013, The Minutes marked a return to club-minded electronics while keeping her sound distinctly contemporary. In 2017, Moyet's ninth studio album, Other, was accompanied by her first extensive world tour in 30 years. Collection includes all studio albums at the moment: Alf (1984); Raindancing (1987); Hoodoo (1991) EU and Japanese press; Essex (1994); Hometime (2002); Voice (2004); Voice (2004) 2CD Deluxe Edition 2015; The Turn (2007); The Minutes (2013); Other (2017).

With Voice, Alison made a radical diversion and recorded an album of songs by other composers that she loved, with the intention of concentrating on her instrument alone - minus the songwriting she was synonymous for. Voice marked a first for Alison, as it featured a classical orchestra and was produced and arranged by Academy Award winner Anne Dudley. It entered the UK album charts at No.7 and reached gold status, selling a quarter of a million copies. It showcased Moyet's eclectic tastes, and above all - her voice at its best. The Guardian described 'extraordinary tones' and 'flawless' renditions of La Chanson Des Vieux Amants and Bye Bye Blackbird.

Following the skeletal, occasionally experimental synth pop of Yaz, the bold, brassy production of Alison Moyet's 1985 solo debut, ALF, came as a surprise to many. Sounding like a mid-'80s updating of vintage Dusty Springfield, ALF (Moyet's punk-era nickname) features the powerhouse ballad "All Cried Out," the sexy raveup "Love Resurrection," and Moyet's outstanding debut solo single, the Lamont Dozier-penned "Invisible," one of the finest pop-soul singles of its era.

Best of 25 Years Revisited collects 20 remastered tracks from the bluesy British pop vocalist’s post-Yaz (or Yazoo) solo outings, spanning the years between her 1984 debut, Alf, through 2007’s Turn. The remasters sounds exceptional, and nearly all of her most notable singles are here, including “All Cried Out,” "That Olde Devil Called Love," “Weak in the Presence of Beauty," “Love Resurrection,” "Ordinary Girl,” and “Footsteps," but listeners just looking for the Yaz classic “Don’t Go” would be better off with 2003’s Essential compilation, as it contains the best of both worlds. Best of 25 Years Revisited also includes a second disc that features 11 live tracks.
