An elaborately produced piece of vinyl, Journey to Dawn was, alas, the result of yet another campaign to prematurely place Nascimento into the U.S. market in a big way. The cosmopolitan tropicalismo movement continued to leave its mark on Nascimento, placing the bossa nova on the back burner and replacing it with an urgency often generated by four-square rock rhythms and electric guitars, percussive sounds from the Brazilian jungle, and some orchestrations from California.

Wagner Tiso is an internationally renowned musician whose achievements include a having a solid impact on the rise of major singer Milton Nascimento, an extensive set of composed soundtracks for movies, a solo discography comprising 28 albums, and performances with jazz giants such as Edison Machado, Paulo Moura, Ron Carter, Johnny Alf, and many others.

In 1989 Beto & Kara's debut album "Crystal Flakes" was released with great success. This publication has been praised worldwide and was honored with predicates such as "Audiophile CD of the month", "Newcomer of the Year", etc…

Patrick SAUSSOIS is not a gypsy born musician but he is one of the best guitarist of gypsy swing. He knows this world since decades and has founded one of the french best label for this music, DJAZ Records. The label had financial problems 2 years ago, but has reopen its production recently.
