This album emerged from the idea of focusing attention on a new saxophone and piano repertoire, which, although fully contemporary and modern, has an inspiration and aesthetic side based on chamber music tradition. Aspects such as the pure sonority, the liking for colour and details, the interaction of these instruments and communication through a linear language sustained by melody and rhythm, make of these works “new classics” of the repertoire.
This is Jazz album, with eastern and western infuences in the melodies and rhythms, including a reminiscence of flamenco. The Catalan bass player Carles Benavent is the most extroverted of Spain’s flamenco and jazz musicians. His work has brought him into contact with Miles Davis and Chick Corea, but also with Camarуn and Claude Nougaro and, particulary with Paco de Lucнa. “Aigua” brings together his most intimate compositions, each originating from a poetic experience.
A limited edition of the Camaron de la Isla 'Integral' box-set. It represents a veritable journey through his life and singing. It includes 21 original albums. The first 17 of them were made in recording studios by Camaron from 1969 to 1992 while he was alive. "The album is similar to the previous one, perhaps a bit less acoustic, with Paco de Lucia and Tomatito on guitars, the productions of Pachon and the musical direction of Paco".
Elemental Music proudly presents this remastered edition of the best kept secret of the Spanish Jazz-Rock/Fusion scene: Iberia, the second and last album of the underrated band Música Urbana. Founded in 1976 by renowned Spanish composer Joan Albert Amargós, Música Urbana was a Barcelona-based supergroup which included members of the prog rock band Maquina! (pioneers of the Spanish underground rock panorama) and other important musicians from the Spanish Jazz scene, such as Carles Benavent (former bassist with Miles Davis, Chick Corea, Paco de Luca and Camarn de la Isla, among others). Released in 1978 by RCA Victor, Iberia masterfully fuses Jazz Rock with contemporary classical and traditional Spanish music. It can be considered one of the best Spanish albums of that decade.
