Multi-instrumentalist David Arkenstone began his recording career back in 1987 with the impressive debut Valley In The Clouds followed up 3 years later with the notable Citizen Of Time. In 1994 Arkenstone released Another Star In The Sky and much like the two previously mention albums his compositions had some elements of the ambient genre. Such influences were less obvious in his subsequent recordings until 2007 when he released Myths and Legends which also had textures of the genre. But not until now has David truly set his mind to fully experimenting with the Ambient World courtesy of this double disc conception…
Let’s embark on a voyage into the world of “Ambient Land” once again, a cherished source of comfort, healing and optimism. Initiated and designed by Lemongrass mastermind Roland Voss back in 2007, as an emotional, cinematic EP series of deep introspective soundscapes, “Ambient Land” invites to relax, retreat and free the mind. Taking off with swelling chords embedded in universal bleeps and shimmers, the opener “Civilization” is a meditative reflection about our today’s world. With “Ryu1” and “Dreaming” we see light glimpses of hope and peace on the horizon. Otherworldly yet organic in theme, images of distant Japanese places conjure up, while listening to “Fujiyama” and “Koi”…
The duo known as Mo Boma (named after a pygmy girl's lullaby), is comprised of Carsten Tiedemann, a native of Germany, and Skuli Sverrisson, of Iceland, both of whom attended Berklee College of Music in Boston. Tiedemann's studies in classical composition structures and ethnic music traditions feature prominently in Mo Boma's style, which uses electronic music to create a ethereal, multi-textured sound that builds around Sverrisson's electric bass core. Sverrisson's own experience as a jazz bassist and improvisational musician also makes a major impact on Mo Boma's sound. The mixture of organic and electronic instrumentation help Mo Boma acheive a depth and complextity of composition that is somewhat rare in ethno-ambient music. Their second album Myths of the Near Future Part One was released in 1994 and was the first in a trilogy of works based around Myths of the Near Future by J.G. Ballard.

Crescent Moon is a set of diversely fluid desert ambience with Middle Eastern and Mediterranean influences. Multi-talented multi-instrumentalist Omar Faruk Tekbilek created this massive soundscape with assistance from Brian Keane.
An above-average soundtrack to a mediocre film, this dance-oriented album hits more than it misses. The title track by David Bowie is fluff by his standards, but as it's produced by Nile Rodgers (a year before their collaboration on Black Tie White Noise), it's danceable fluff. Further in, the album samples the beginnings of the '90s techno revolution, with excellent tracks from Future Sound of London ("Papua New Guinea"), Moby ("Next Is the E"), Ministry's Bush-era primal scream "N.W.O.," and Mindless's "Mindless." Brian Eno's exclusive track "Under" is one of his best from the '90s.
This new instrumental trio project from the burning guitarist of Cleric and Simulacrum blends avant-garde classical, free jazz, dissonant math metal, ambient and world music into a powerful new mix. Originally from Philly and now living in Brooklyn, Matt Hollenberg has spent over a year composing these complex and exciting pieces and has chosen two of his oldest musical cohorts to perform them. This bold new take on the power trio will fry your mind!
Ambient Hawai'i was formed by Makoto Kubota, Sandii and Yuki Yamauchi. The high quality sound woven by the three musicians is, including ambient, world music and ethno/tropical taste sound inspired by Hawaii.
