An introduction to the band prior to their 2018 European tour. For 15 Years Amplifier have been that underground UK rock band that have universally prompted the same reaction: "Why aren't these massive?" Over more than 10 albums Amplifier have been compared to ALL of the following by the worlds music press. Led Zepplin, Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd, Tool, Nirvana, Godmachine, The Who, The Verve, Hawkwind, Cardiacs, Rush, Soundgarden. They sound like none of these bands.

Amplifier have always been at a crossroad between underground and mainstream. Initially, they tried their hands at the latter, the self-titled debut and Insider boasting some more radio-friendly material that managed at times to condense their awesomeness into 3-4 tight minutes. Still, dissatisfied with all the corporate environment and its less-to-no interest in sonic substance, the band independently released the massive Octopus, which was more or less a *** you to commercial viability…

Amplifier is a rock band from Manchester, England. The band has released five albums and four EPs since its inception in 1999. Their fifth album, Mystoria, was released in September 2014. Amplifier's sound has been described as "Soundgarden, Tool, Black Sabbath, Oceansize and Pink Floyd taking copious amounts of mind-altering substances and venturing on a trip through time and space (to another dimension), and back again." Their music is characterised by guitarist Sel Balamir's effects pedals, extended heavy sections, atmospheric compositions and philosophical lyrics.
