An Ocean of Grey

Dave Salmoni travels to a remote island in the heart of the South Pacific in search of answers to an animal mystery. Rangiroa should be an island paradise, but it has a frightening reputation as the shark capital of the world. There are thousands of deadly sharks here blacktip reef sharks, tiger sharks, silvertips, grey reef sharks, great hammerheads. These top predators are normally found in small numbers, but here in the middle of an ocean often described as a marine desert, they seem to congregate in incredible numbers.

Very little has been written about the U-boat war in the Indian Ocean, where almost forty German submarines were assigned to operate from the Malaysian port of Georgetown alongside troops of the occupying Imperial Japanese forces.
