A new signing for Delphian, In Echo is made up of some of Europe’s finest young early-music specialists. Each a soloist in their own right, under director Gawain Glenton they have put together a fascinating snapshot of the musical landscape during the heyday of the Hanseatic League. The seafaring nations of northern Europe have always been connected: London to Tallinn via Lübeck, Hamburg, Bremen and the ports of Holland, Denmark and Sweden.

Having formed in Liverpool in 1978; built around the collaborative dynamics of Alix Plain and Danny Hampson, Modern Eon burned brightly but briefly, issuing a run of singles and the remarkable album ‘Fiction Tales’ before disbanding prior to the recording of a second long player. Distinctly different from most of their post-punk peers, the band were musically ambitious and adventurous, willing to experiment and inclined towards the poetic and the profound – qualities which attracted a significant audience as the music world looked around for whatever was to come next – and their cult popularity remains.

The album has been mixed and mastered by Wilson and is unlike any in Tim's back catalog. Bowness utilizes a core band comprising Stephen Bennett (Henry Fool), Colin Edwin (Porcupine Tree), Bruce Soord (The Pineapple Thief), Hux Nettermalm (Paatos) and Andrew Booker (Sanguine Hum), and is also joined by guests including Kit Watkins (Happy The Man/Camel), Steve Bingham (no-man) and the legendary Ian Anderson (Jethro Tull).
