November 22, 2013 marks the 100th birthday of Benjamin Britten, and Warner Classics pays tribute to this key figure of 20th century music with this brand new recording of his War Requiem, featuring a superstar line up of soloists - Anna Netrebko, Ian Bostridge and Thomas Hampson - and renowned conductor Antonio Pappano leading the Orchestra, Coro e Voci Bianche Dell'accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia.

Antônio Alves Pinto (born 1967) is a Brazilian film score composer. He is the son of the famous cartoonist Ziraldo and the brother of film-maker Daniela Thomas. His work earned him a World Soundtrack Award and an ASCAP award, as well as a nomination in the Best Original Song category at the 65th Golden Globe Awards for writing the song "Despedida" with Shakira.

Brazilian film composer Antonio Pinto has scored independent film hits such as Central Station and City of God, among other Brazilian features. Recently, however, Hollywood came calling when director Michael Mann selected Pinto to compose several cues, including the end credit, "Requiem," for the Tom Cruise/Jamie Foxx thriller Collateral. As part of the 2003 Flanders International Film Festival in Ghent, Belgium, Pinto was named Discovery of the Year at the World Soundtrack Awards, and he attended the Festival again in October, 2004. One of his additional recent credits is the main and end title theme from the Fox TV series, Jonny Zero. As well, Antonio Pinto composed the music for the 2005 movie Lord of War.

Cerebrum is a 2021 American science-fiction thriller film written by Arvi and Gary D. Houk, directed by Arvi. The film stars Christian James, James Russo, Alexxis Lemire, Anirudh Pisharody, John Ruby, Aly Trasher, Jesse Willhite, Christopher Carrington, and Hanif Karim.

At the heart of this programme of Beethoven songs performed by Ian Bostridge and Sir Antonio Pappano is the song cycle An die ferne Geliebte (To the distant beloved). Bostridge describes it as “the distillation of Beethoven as lover”.
