Elements of Applied Bifurcation Theory, Third Edition by Yuri A. Kuznetsov
English | PDF | 2004 | 648 Pages | ISBN : 1441919511 | 51.08 MB

This is a book on nonlinear dynamical systems and their bifurcations under parameter variation. It provides a reader with a solid basis in dynamical systems theory, as well as explicit procedures for application of general mathematical results to particular problems. Special attention is given to efficient numerical implementations of the developed techniques. Several examples from recent research papers are used as illustrations. The book is designed for advanced undergraduate or graduate students in applied mathematics, as well as for Ph.D. students and researchers in physics, biology, engineering, and economics who use dynamical systems as model tools in their studies. A moderate mathematical background is assumed, and, whenever possible, only elementary mathematical tools are used.

Self-Organization as a New Paradigm in Evolutionary Biology: From Theory to Applied Cases in the Tree of Life

Self-Organization as a New Paradigm in Evolutionary Biology: From Theory to Applied Cases in the Tree of Life by Anne Dambricourt Malassé
English | PDF,EPUB | 2022 | 393 Pages | ISBN : 3031047826 | 58.5 MB

The epistemological synthesis of the various theories of evolution, since the first formulation in 1802 with the transmission of the inherited characters by J.B. Lamarck, shows the need for an alternative synthesis to that of Princeton (1947). This new synthesis integrates the scientific models of self-organization developed during the second half of the 20th century based on the laws of physics, thermodynamics, and mathematics with the emergent evolutionary problematics such as self-organized memory.

Value Distribution Theory and Related Topics

Value Distribution Theory and Related Topics by G. Barsegian, I. Laine, C. C. Yang
English | PDF (True) | 2004 | 331 Pages | ISBN : 1402079508 | 34.1 MB

The Nevanlinna theory of value distribution of meromorphic functions, one of the milestones of complex analysis during the last century, was c- ated to extend the classical results concerning the distribution of of entire functions to the more general setting of meromorphic functions. Later on, a similar reasoning has been applied to algebroid functions, subharmonic functions and meromorphic functions on Riemann surfaces as well as to - alytic functions of several complex variables, holomorphic and meromorphic mappings and to the theory of minimal surfaces. Moreover, several appli- tions of the theory have been exploited, including complex differential and functional equations, complex dynamics and Diophantine equations. The main emphasis of this collection is to direct attention to a number of recently developed novel ideas and generalizations that relate to the - velopment of value distribution theory and its applications. In particular, we mean a recent theory that replaces the conventional consideration of counting within a disc by an analysis of their geometric locations. Another such example is presented by the generalizations of the second main theorem to higher dimensional cases by using the jet theory. Moreover, s- ilar ideas apparently may be applied to several related areas as well, such as to partial differential equations and to differential geometry. Indeed, most of these applications go back to the problem of analyzing zeros of certain complex or real functions, meaning in fact to investigate level sets or level surfaces.

Theory and Practice of High Resolution Seismic HRS-Geo Technology Application: Optimizing Environment Model Selection by Vladimir L. Trofimov , Fanil' F. Khaziev , Alisa V. Trofimova
English | EPUB (True) | 2023 | 403 Pages | ISBN : 3031415892 | 432.1 MB

This book outlines the scientific, methodological and practical foundations for applying High Resolution Seismic HRS-Geo Technology in order to build detailed 2D and 3D seismic acoustic models in the form of acoustic impedances (AI) and reflection coefficients (RC) and the most important geological indicators. The monograph is a continuation of the book by the same authors "Oil and Gas Reservoir Prospecting and Exploration: High-Resolution Seismic HRS techniques and technology".
