"Dance Classics of Chaka Khan" is a compilation album of recordings by American R&B/funk singer Chaka Khan released on the Warner Bros. Records label in Japan in 1999. As the title suggests the compilation mainly focuses on the dancefloor friendly part of Khan's repertoire from the late 1970s to mid 1980s, including classic single cuts like "I'm Every Woman", "Fate", "Eye To Eye", "Clouds", "I Feel for You" as well as album tracks like "Pass It On (Sure Thing)" and "A Woman in a Man's World". Dance Classics is however mainly notable for the inclusion of two rarities: the original 12" Long Vocal Mix and 12" Instrumental Version of the 1982 hit single "Tearin' It Up", both mixed by legendary D.J. Larry Levan and as yet only available on this compilation.

"Beautiful Soul" collects tracks from Springfield's 1973 "Cameo" album, along with the entirety of its previously unreleased follow-up "Longing". The "Cameo" tracks are produced by then-hot songwriting team Dennis Lambert and Brian Potter, and they're done in the same pop/soul style the pair employed with the Four Tops at the time. Highlights include "Who Gets Your Love," a mid-tempo teaser that became a modest hit, and a spectacularly soulful version of Van Morrison's "Tupelo Honey." The "Longing" tracks, some of which were to some degree unfinished, are a bit more wide-ranging stylistically. Among the best are the haunting, minor-key "Exclusively for Me," on which Springfield does a lovely impression of its co-author, ex-Zombies singer Colin Blunstone," and "A Love Like Yours," a lesser-known Motown song that she re-recorded for her 1977 album "It Begins Again".

"Diana!" is the first solo television special of American singer Diana Ross and aired on ABC on April 18, 1971. The special was choreographed by David Winters of West Side Story fame, who at that time choreographed all of Ross' stage and television shows. The special featured performances by The Jackson 5, and also included Jackson 5 lead singer Michael Jackson's solo debut. Michael Jackson performed Frank Sinatra's "It Was a Very Good Year", which drew laughter as its adult-themed lyrics were changed to fit his age. Other guests included Danny Thomas and Bill Cosby, who would be featured on a similar television special by the Jackson 5 (Goin' Back to Indiana) a few months later.

In 1985, NOW Music released ‘NOW Dance: The 12” Mixes’, a 20-track compilation that included the extended or remix versions of some of the biggest recent hits and popular club tracks. "Everything Is Everything" is the second album by Diana Ross, released in 1970. After the huge success of her self-named album and its accompanying two singles, Motown rushed the release of this album. It reached #42 in the USA (#5 R&B) and sold over 200,000 copies. The track "I'm Still Waiting" was a UK #1 single in 1971 for four weeks and her rendering of Aretha Franklin's "Call Me (I Love You)" was nominated for a Grammy in 1971 in the Best Female R&B Vocal Performance category.
