This is not your typical acoustic guitar library. The RCD Acoustic was conceptualized around experimental, rhythmic playing styles commonly associated with modern film score and features highly realistic 'repetition sourced' recordings.

Featuring Nashville's finest string players at Ocean Way Studios – a world class scoring environment – we dedicated over two years to capturing the expressive performances of the incredible musicians we worked with. Using performance-based sampling techniques, we were able to preserve the subtle details and expressiveness found in real live recordings, all while maintaining the sense of depth found in the room. Every note was analyzed in real time during the sessions to make sure we maintained timbrel consistency.

Bryce's dedication to film music led to the development of a guitar of his own design – a guitar that was based on the range and capabilities of a piano. Through the facilitation of transcribing existing piano music faithfully onto this guitar, the instrument became a new and exciting platform to write and perform any style of music, which encouraged more of the hybrid-orientated music.

What do you get when you combine two acoustic guitars? A 12-string guitar, but not the kind that you might be familiar with. This experimental 12-string is a unique instrument by Oliver Codd designed to perform in a virtual domain due to its beautifully simple, yet limited design. All of the strings are tuned to the same note, resulting in a large, rich, ensemble-like sound that, while sonically pleasing, renders it very difficult to play in a live context. Through sampling, all of the lovely tones could be captured and the performance limitations transcended, opening up a whole new world of creative possibilities.
