Roberto Cacciapaglia was born in Milan. He graduated in composition from the “Giuseppe Verdi” Conservatory of his city, where he also studied conducting and electronic music. Over the years he worked at the studio of Phonology of Rai and collaborated with the CNR (National Research Council) in Pisa where he studied computer applications in the field of music. Composer and pianist, he is a key protagonist on the international scene of the most innovative music, his compositions blending electronic experimental music with the classical tradition. For many years he has been researching the powers of sound, leading towards a music beyond frontiers expressed through deep emotional contact. “ATLAS” - his latest album released on 25th November 2016 by Believe Digital - is a charming collection of 28 tracks: the greatest music by the composer enriched by two extraordinary inedited tracks - “Reverse” and “Mirabilis” - and a tribute to David Bowie: an instrumental version of “Starman”, Requiem to his memory.

As we edge closer to the “final shows” by Black Sabbath, one not unexpected thing has happened. We have an announcement of a new compilation from Universal. The compilation is called “Black Sabbath: The Ultimate Collection”. This is a two CD compilation from Sanctuary/BMG. I’ve written about this in the past on the site, but this means that it won’t be released domestically, as this is based off the European record contract that covers from 1970-1987, whereas the Warner/Rhino contract covers US/North America.

A spicy mix of rarities, alternates and previously unissued R&B goodies from South Louisiana and S.E. Texas, where you are never too far from a bayou and some good rockin’ music. This 15th compilation in the “By The Bayou” series takes us back to the R&B sounds you would have heard belting out of a Louisiana juke joint on a steamy night in the 1950s or early 1960s. All of the tracks included were recorded in that party state, although some of the artists were based in Texas, crossing the state line to make music in studios based in Crowley and Lake Charles.

Lapis Lapis Lazuli formed out of the incestuous Canterbury scene in 2008 and craft their sound at their spiritual home, The Bungalow - a place where musos regularly gather for jam parties and improvise long into the night.
Their two debut albums ‘Reality Is’ and ‘Extended Play’ were recorded in 2012 by the band themselves - both jam packed with 10 and 20 minute tracks totalling over 2 hours.
With influences ranging from Progressive Rock, Math Rock, Funk, Jazz, Balkan, Psychedelia and Alien Visitation their 3rd project ‘Alien/Abra Cadaver’ is a tour-de force of the band’s past and future musical paradigms crystallized into orchestral proportions that takes them a step forward into new unchartered lands…

Iggy Pop's Post Pop Depression album, a collaboration with co-writer and producer Joshua Homme from Queens Of The Stone Age, is his most critically acclaimed and commercially successful album for many years. On May 13, 2016, Iggy Pop brought his Post Pop Depression live show to London's revered Royal Albert Hall and almost tore the roof off! With a backing band including Joshua Homme and Dean Fertita from Queens Of The Stone Age and Matt Helders from the Arctic Monkeys, Iggy delivered a set focused almost entirely on the new album plus his two classic David Bowie collaboration albums from 1977, The Idiot and Lust For Life. Fans and critics alike raved about the performance and this will definitely be remembered as one of Iggy Pop's finest concerts.
