Kritzerland is proud to present a limited edition soundtrack release – two great scores on one great CD. The Whisperers was originally issued on a United Artists LP and had a prior CD release on Ryko. That release, as was the case with several Ryko issues, had dialogue tracks added between the score tracks, which, for most people, completely interrupted the wonderful flow of Barry's original LP sequence. For this release, we have removed the added dialogue tracks and remastered the sound. The original United Artists LP of Equus, along with its prior CD release (also on Ryko - now long out of print), interspersed five of Burton's monologues (and a scene with Firth) among the score cues. Some of the monologues retained their own track and had no underscore, and some were bookended with musical cues. The result was a very nice listen for the first couple of times - after that, one wished that the score could simply be listened to as a score, on its own. So, for this release, we've done exactly that for the first time.

"Manilow" is the self-titled album released in 1985 by singer-songwriter Barry Manilow. The album had little impact on the charts. The album features 1980s style rock n' roll/ synthesizers. He was lured away from Arista Records, but as cited by Manilow in an interview, the executives who brought him over were no longer there when the album was released. This may have led to poor record sales, as well as the album sound being primarily a modern uptempo and synthesized release sharply different from Manilow's renowned piano ballads.

New Intrada score-only CD features 74 minutes of rich, sumptuous Barry. Movie chronicles intriguing offer by Redford of one million dollars for single night with Moore, wife of Harrelson. Young happily-married couple see it as opportunity to build their dream house but story soon ventures much deeper. Love, jealousy, heartbreak all play roles. John Barry underlines all in signature 90's "nostalgia" style. Main theme is gorgeous albeit sad-tinged melody for piano, strings. Harmonies both major, minor play important role throughout. Two additional secondary themes further enrich haunting, sensual score. Romantic film scoring with hint of sadness became hallmark of Barry's final decade of composing. Indecent Proposal remains one of his most beautiful efforts!
