2006 reissue of In Search of the Lost Chord,originally released in 1968, which was the third album by The Moody Blues, and the second to feature Justin Hayward and John Lodge. The album may be considered a concept album because several of the tracks deal with the theme of a person's search for spiritual fulfillment. Another concept dealt with in the album is the search for a mythical "lost chord," which is revealed to be the mantra "Om" (in the last stanza of Graeme Edge's poem "The Word"). The album peaked at #23 U.S. album charts and in the UK reached #5.

Radio One is a 1988 CD by The Jimi Hendrix Experience. Released by Rykodisc, it is taken from sessions Hendrix and the Experience did for what was originally listed as just the "Radio One" show on BBC Radio but research has shown some were done for another show for the BBC. Day Tripper was a single Rykodisc also released in support of the Radio One CD with the title track used plus two "alternate versions" of "Drivin' South" and "Hear My Train A Comin'". Upon release, it was rumored that John Lennon had taken part in this recording but he did not.

Genesis ‘BBC Broadcasts’ is an extensive collection of broadcast material from one of the biggest selling recording artists of all time and one of Britain's most internationally renowned bands. Curated by founder member Tony Banks and the group’s long-time engineer and producer Nick Davis it is available as a 53-track 5-CD set and 24-track triple LP. These collections represent the cream of the group’s work recorded by the BBC between 1970 and 1998, and it includes contributions from all three of the group’s vocalists, Peter Gabriel, Phil Collins and Ray Wilson. If there's one artist whose success can be almost directly attributed to support from the BBC, it's Marc Bolan. His initial success was unquestionably down to the close friendship he had forged with John Peel, who had Bolan on his show on countless occasions recording sessions, reading poetry, even singing Christmas carols. On his last Radio London show before the station was shut down Peel played no less than six Bolan recordings. This single disc set is the best of the BBC recordings, taken from the three CD retrospective released in 2006. 24 tracks including 'Telegram Sam', 'Ride A White Swan', 'Debora' and more.

When he played his revamp of Gwen McCrae's "Funky Sensation" during a 1981 DJ slot on New York's WBLS, Shep Pettibone perked the ears of then-emergent producer Arthur Baker. The presenter and co-producer of this boxed set consequently initiated a collaboration on the answer record "Jazzy Sensation," the first 12" crediting Pettibone. By the end of the next year, Pettibone's solo "mastermixes" had become so numerous and prized that a dozen for the Prelude label alone were rounded up for commercial release on double vinyl. The DJ and remix artist soon diversified as a pop producer, most notably as an indispensable Madonna associate. The four-disc Classic 12" Master-Mixes features neither "Funky Sensation" nor "Jazzy Sensation," and doesn't include anything Pettibone did for Prelude or with Madonna.
