Bad Dose

A drug dealer who discovers his girlfriend and best friend are having an affair secretly doses them with a strange new street drug where they are hunted by a murderous monster from within the hallucinatory world of the drug trip.

Double Dose was the eighth album by the American blues rock band Hot Tuna, and their third live album. The album was originally released as a double-LP as Grunt CYL2-2545. After their 1977 tour, Jorma Kaukonen moved on to a solo career and Jack Casady joined the new wave band SVT. Hot Tuna would not perform together again until 1983. The album had its highest peak at #92 on the Billboard charts.

Chet released record after record from the late 50s through the early 90s. Most featured his group the Mighty Avengers and were released on bandleader Al Sears’ group of labels, usually Sylvia. You’d expect a man with more than 20 singles to his name to have at least been acknowledged in the industry papers. But no, virtually nothing. The number of records he issued suggests a certain popularity, so why didn’t anyone know anything about him?

Critically acclaimed songwriter John Moreland will release his fourth solo album Big Bad Luv on May 5 via 4AD. Big Bad Luv marks a change in Moreland’s sound and outlook on life. With lyrics that are as intense and unfiltered as on his earlier work, Moreland delves into finding peace within. He also branches out sonically on the new album, which is injected with a heavier dose of rock ‘n’ roll. Big Bad Luv was recorded at Fellowship Fall Sound in Little Rock, AR, produced by Moreland and mixed by Tchad Blake (The Black Keys, Tom Waits, Sheryl Crow).

Since their formation the band has recorded and released a studio album, “Bad Weather Birds”, an acoustic EP, two improvisation-based albums, and is in the process of recording their second studio album. Their original songs “Mercy” and “Straight No Chaser” have received repeated local airplay on both 89.5 WHRV’s “Out of the Box” program hosted by Paul Shugrue, 96X, and YourMusicShow. The band was invited to perform live on Out of the Box in April 2018.
