The PSI Marimba is a 52 note, 10,221 sample, 6.2 GB (3.2 compressed) virtual Instrument, playable in the full version of Kontakt 4.2.2 and above. The phase alignment of the audio was essential to the sound to ensure a focused tone, this had to be done for each note. The end result represents a forensic, audiophile yet characterful recreation of a world class instrument.

We are proud to present the next release in our Artist Series instruments - Steampunk - featuring the sound design of our own Kyle Kniceley. The artist series instruments will each highlight one of our composer/sound designers, where they will create most or all of the samples on their own.

In the burgeoning contemporary repertoire for percussion, the work of a group of North American composer-performers has a special place. Classically trained but influenced as much by rock and jazz as by the Western canon, they have found a stellar exponent in the Scottish marimba player Calum Huggan. Already well known as leading exponent of new music, Calum’s natural instinct for collaboration has led to this landmark first solo album.

A versatile tool that is suitable for a wide variety of music. Developed with a focus on experimental sounds and found sounds that have been highly manipulated. Most presets are gritty, loud, aggressive, or "other-worldly" sounding but it still contains a lot of content that is mellow and softer.

For the past five years, Standalone Music has been hard at work locating and recording analog synthesizers. The meticulously curated library incorporates a variety of synthesizers ranging old, rare and unusual to new and classic models. The sound of these timeless instruments was recorded at 24bit, using high-quality preamps and AD Converters.

Commonly known as the Baldwin electric harpsichord, the Baldwin Combo Harpsichord originated in the early 1960’s under the umbrella of a short-lived harpsichord manufacturing firm called The Cannon Guild. Founded by the harpsichord builder Eric Herz, the firm supported an inventor named Caleb Warner, whose idea eventually became the Baldwin electric solid-body harpsichord.

Perhaps the most unusual instrument ever created by the percussion company J.C. Deagan Inc., Shaker Chimes were invented by John Calhoun Deagan in 1900. Also known as Organ Chimes, they are one of the rarest Deagan instruments, with only a few dozen sets still known to exist.

An epic collection of synthesised orchestral sounds, eDNA Earth has been created using our enormous range of organic orchestral recordings, manipulated, warped and reprogrammed beyond recognition by Spitfire’s award-winning team of composers, engineers and developers. With thousands of sounds and presets, we have taken our entire orchestral palette and morphed it into an alternate universe.
