The superb November 1960 session recorded by the Ben Webster-Johnny Hodges sextet in studio conditions at the Jazz Cellar, in San Francisco (without an audience). It is presented here in its complete form, on HighResAudio, for the first time ever.

Irish artist Ben Reel will release a new single `Soldier Of Love' on March 9th which will be followed by a new album `Land Of Escape' on 30th March featuring 12 brand new tracks. This will be the 8th studio album and like the last 2 previous records it was recorded and produced in Ben's home studio in South Armagh. It will be different than the last record 7th with a more alt folk ambient vibe.

Nonesuch Records releases Junun – an album from composer/musician Shye Ben Tzur, guitarist Jonny Greenwood, and The Rajasthan Express, a group of Indian qawwali musicians – on November 20. Recorded earlier this year in a makeshift studio inside the 15th-century Mehrangarh Fort in Jodhpur, India, the album was made with Radiohead’s producer Nigel Godrich, who worked with the ensemble to create this Vinyl album. The album features Ben Tzur’s compositions, which combine ecstatic, devotional Sufi qawwal musical traditions and his native Hebrew.

Benjamin Francis Webster (March 27, 1909 – September 20, 1973) was an American jazz tenor saxophonist. A native of Kansas City, Missouri he studied violin, learned how to play blues on the piano from Pete Johnson, and received saxophone lessons from Budd Johnson. He played with Lester Young in the Young Family Band. He recorded with Blanche Calloway and became a member of the Bennie Moten Orchestra with Count Basie, Hot Lips Page, and Walter Page. For the rest of the 1930s, he played in bands led by Willie Bryant, Benny Carter, Cab Calloway, Fletcher Henderson, Andy Kirk, and Teddy Wilson. He was a soloist with the Duke Ellington Orchestra in the 1940s, appearing on "Cotton Tail". He considered Johnny Hodges, an alto saxophonist in the Ellington orchestra, a major influence on his playing.
