In August 1986 two pairs of young sisters (Claudia and Livia Caffagni, Elisabetta and Ella de Mircovich) founded the ensemble La Reverdie. The name, derived from a poetic genre that celebrates the return of Spring, reveals perhaps the principal trait of a group that, for 30 years now, has captivated audiences and critics alike for the variety in its approach to the vast and varied musical repertoire of Middle Ages and early Renaissance. To mark this anniversary, Arcana brings together in a single 5-CD box-set all the themed projects that, over the years, La Reverdie has devoted to various aspects of Medieval culture.

Singer Lynn Hilary is a member of the multi-Platinum supergroup Celtic Woman, but she’s already stretching her wings as a solo artist with TAKE ME WITH YOU, her debut. A classically-trained soprano from Dublin, Hilary co-wrote nearly all the songs with Irish-born, Nashville-based producer Don Mescall, also ncluding one traditional tune sung in Gaelic. The arrangements are mostly piano-and guitar-driven with embellishment by strings, with some jazz influences here and there as well. With her soothing, mellifluous voice, Hilary is off to a good start as a solo performer.

This is a fabulous release with two albums from Shirley and Dolly Collins recorded on Harvest records and collected together. CD one brings us the album Anthems in Eden. Anthems in Eden is perhaps the most famous album and the most creative one from Shirley and Dolly Collins. This sixth album from Shirley is from 1969 and it is an incredible project. The album has been released and re released a few times. Here on this fabulous album Shirley provides her unique vocals along with Sister Dolly on portative organ. But this time there are a whole host of other musicians involved.
