Dance music has spread across the world transcending religious & racial barriers connecting to the hearts and souls of millions. People have always felt the rhythm of music and have as a result evolved countless dance styles throughout the ages. Beginning in the late 80's in Melbourne's underground dance music party scene, a revolutionary freestyle dance began to grow and has now developed into the most unique and robust underground dance style since the birth of Breakdancing.

There was time in the late '70s and early '80s when inner suburban Melbourne was churning out as much world class rock 'n' roll as it ever has. Bands like The Sports, Jo Jo Zep & The Falcons and Paul Kelly & The Dots could pack out venues like Bombay Rock or The Venue for nights on end. The songs coming out of Melbourne were strong and often about the city itself. Skyhooks sung about the sun setting over Carlton, The Sports would sing about going down to the cop shop on Russell Street and a little later, Paul Kelly would name check St. Kilda and other quirks of Melbourne suburbia.

Presents Silver Roads: Australian Country-Rock and Singer-Songwriters of the '70s, a follow up, or a companion piece, to 2012's Boogie! Australian Blues, R&B and Heavy Rock from the '70s. While Boogie! was decidedly blues focused, Silver Roads looks at the other side of return-to-roots coin the incorporation of country and folk influences in the Australian rock scene of the late 60s and 70s. It looks at a local scene in which artists followed the lead of the likes of Bob Dylan, the Band, CSN&Y and Gram Parsons and created some fantastic music.
