Alla Polacca is an invitation to delve into the world of sounds, scents and flavours of Poland and Polish folklore. What is presented here is a journey through Poland and Polish culture through the eyes of various European and Polish composers who lived, worked or traveled to Poland in the seventeenth and eighteenth century and whose compositions present elements of the Polish style.

Over the last ten years, Tingvall Trio has evolved into an unparalleled success story for 'Jazz made in Germany'. What was once a rough & tumble band from Hamburg, is now regarded as one of the premier German export hits in its genre. And it's certainly no coincidence that this ensemble has managed to unite different generations of listeners behind its musical concept so well that even today's media-inundated young audience has been regained for Jazz. They have won three ECHO Jazz awards as Ensemble of the Year or Live Act of the Year, four Jazz Awards respectively for more than 10,000 units of recorded audio media sold in Germany for each of their four studio albums thus far, live appearances in far and had more than 20 countries.

Among Schumann’s inspired late chamber works is a collection of music for more unusual instruments, composed in a concentrated flurry of creativity between 1849 and 1853 and written specifically for particular players, and it is to these exquisite short works that the world-famous Nash Ensemble turns its impeccable collective musicianship.

Space Time Continuo is excited to present the ten Carolo sonatas in their first ever recording! Although the Carolo sonatas were written for smaller ensembles, the original edition served as a blank canvas to fulfill Space Time Continuo’s mandate to feature the rich textures and wide soundscape possible in the continuo section. Sonatas XI, III, V and X were conceived with augmented forces and sonatas XI and III are actually new arrangements for 3 solo bass instruments and continuo. Sonata VI is performed with two bassoons, harpsichord and bowed bass (5-string low-pitched bass violin) but the other five are closer to what was suggested by the original publisher’s title page: “two solo bass instruments plus one continuo,” but with variation in the instrumentation of the solo voices and keyboard choice.

The Volterra Project Trio redefines classical guitar trio music, drawing inspiration from European Impressionism, Mediterranean folk traditions and cinematic scores. Formed in 2017 at the Volterra Project Summer Guitar Institute, the trio emerged from a deep friendship and shared artistic vision. Luca Isolani and Maarten Vandenbemden, teaching assistants at the Institute since 2016, joined forces with Antigoni Goni to create a vibrant ensemble uniting their creativity and talents as performers, composers and improvisers.

Lodestar Trio blaze a trail with their unprecedented ‘baroque meets folk’ repertoire. With renewed interpretations of baroque classics (Bach, Lully, Couperin…), folk tunes and new compositions, they push the boundaries of their mystical and magical Scandinavian string instruments. With Max Baillie on violin, Olav Luksengård Mjelva on Norwegian Hardanger fiddle and Erik Rydvall on Swedish nyckelharpa, they skilfully showcase the dexterity of each instrument, bringing out new qualities, whilst paying tribute to the roots of a much-honoured musical period.

Volume 70 of the Vivaldi Edition revives a serenade by the "Red Priest" led with brio by Andrea Buccarella, his Abchordis Ensemble and a triad of vibrant soloists.

The human factor determines the path. The Clarinet Trio op. 114 by Johannes Brahms more or less represents the DNA of the Quantum Clarinet Trio, and the piece was one of the driving forces behind the founding of this young chamber ensemble, whose members first met at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg in 2014. At that time, Italian clarinettist Elena Veronesi had been searching for fellow musicians to collaborate in a late work trio, and she found them in the German cellist Johannes Przygodda and Korean pianist Bokyung Kim.

"Get yourself a trio, Erlend." These were the words spoken by the legendary Svein Finnerud to a young Erlend Skomsvoll in 1991. Since then, Erlend Skomsvoll has established himself as an exceptional interpreter of others' music, as an arranger and orchestra leader, collaborating with luminaries such as Chick Corea, Pat Metheny, Kaizers Orchestra, Mathias Eick, Marius Neset, Arve Tellefsen, The Norwegian Wind Ensemble, Norwegian Radio Orchestra, Trondheim Jazz Orchestra, Ensemble Allegria, and many more.
