Like the 1997 release If You Believe In, this is a dip into the vault of MacLean solo demos, revealing that the ethereal singer/songwriter had a wealth of compositions that never made it onto Love records. In fact, not a single one of these songs was included on Love's first three albums, though a few of them had been written before his departure from the band (and a couple of them appear, in different versions, on If You Believe In). This collection might be considered less essential, for purist fans at any rate, than If You Believe In, as (unlike If You Believe In) this has no bona fide 1960s performances. Seven were done in New York in 1971, a couple were recorded live in 1976-77, and the rest date from the early 1980s (though, according to the liner notes, just five of the 19 songs were written after 1970).

Love's Forever Changes made only a minor dent on the charts when it was first released in 1967, but years later it became recognized as one of the finest and most haunting albums to come out of the Summer of Love, which doubtless has as much to do with the disc's themes and tone as the music, beautiful as it is. Sharp electric guitars dominated most of Love's first two albums, and they make occasional appearances here on tunes like "A House Is Not a Motel" and "Live and Let Live," but most of Forever Changes is built around interwoven acoustic guitar textures and subtle orchestrations, with strings and horns both reinforcing and punctuating the melodies.

Love was an American rock group of the late 1960s and early 1970s. They were led by singer, songwriter and guitarist Arthur Lee and the group's second songwriter, guitarist Bryan MacLean. One of the first racially diverse American pop bands, their music reflected different influences, combining elements of rock and roll, garage rock, folk and psychedelia. While finding only modest success on the music charts, Love would come to be praised by critics as one of the finest and most important American rock groups of all time. Their third album, Forever Changes (1967), is generally regarded as their masterpiece, included in the Library of Congress' National Recording Registry in 2011. Double-CD box contains most of their classic first three albums (including the entirety of Forever Changes), all three non-LP tracks from their 1966-1968 prime, and highlights of the post-Bryan MacLean albums from the late '60s and early '70s.

"Arthur! You don't know how long we've waited!" shouted one enthusiastic female member of the audience after Love had finished performing their first song. "But you know how long I've waited," Arthur Lee playfully tossed back, eliciting sharp cheers from the crowd. Such was the spirit at the Royal Festival Hall, where, on January 15, 2003, Lee and Love re-created the Forever Changes album live in London for the first time. What could have been a pathetic display – Lee, the onetime star, performing old hits by rote – actually becomes a transcendent experience through two virtues: inspired string and horn accompaniment from a Scandinavian eight-piece, and the sheer shock and relief that Lee is able to hold himself together despite his years of well-documented self-abuse. The Forever Changes Concert does not take any liberties with the content of the legendary Forever Changes album, preferring note-for-note replication over reimagining.

The final album from Byzantium is a real eclectic mix of sounds, more of a sampler of the various members’ backgrounds and stylistic experiences than any kind of cohesive band effort…

The third and final album by the original Love's lineup, "Forever Changes" regularly draws epic praise. Rolling Stone described it as "elegant armageddon" when listing it as #40 in the "500 Greatest Albums Of All Time", and placing it in the context of the late '60s in another rave review, called it, "one of the most distinctive masterpieces in that era of masterpieces". A landmark work that's the L.A.-based psychedelic folk-rock pioneers' most fully realized studio effort, it was produced by band co-founder/frontman Arthur Lee and The Doors' engineer/producer Bruce Botnick, and released by Elektra in early '68. Highlights include "Alone Again Or", "Andmoreagain", "The Red Telephone", and "Live And Let Live".

UK three CD set. Melvo Baptiste steps up to mix his second Glitterbox compilation, Pump The Boogie, featuring the upfront disco heat that has been setting off the dancefloor all summer at Glitterbox parties in New York, Amsterdam, London and Ibiza. Pump The Boogie reflects the sounds of the Theatre, moving from the joyful '80s and '90s sounds of The Emotions 'Turn It Out' and Kathy Brown 'I Appreciate' through modernized classics like Sister Sledge 'Got To Love Somebody' remixed for 2018 by disco maestro Dimitri From Paris.
