Casablanca is a 1942 American romantic drama film directed by Michael Curtiz based on Murray Burnett and Joan Alison's unproduced stage play Everybody Comes to Rick's. The film stars Humphrey Bogart, Ingrid Bergman, and Paul Henreid; it also features Claude Rains, Conrad Veidt, Sydney Greenstreet, Peter Lorre, and Dooley Wilson. Set during contemporary World War II, it focuses on an American expatriate who must choose between his love for a woman and helping her and her husband, a Czech Resistance leader, escape from the Vichy-controlled city of Casablanca to continue his fight against the Nazis. The music was written by Max Steiner, who was best known for the score for Gone with the Wind. The song "As Time Goes By" by Herman Hupfeld had been part of the story from the original play; Steiner wanted to write his own composition to replace it, but Bergman had already cut her hair short for her next role (María in For Whom the Bell Tolls) and could not re-shoot the scenes which incorporated the song, so Steiner based the entire score on it and "La Marseillaise", the French national anthem, transforming them as leitmotifs to reflect changing moods.

The Casablanca Records Story is a 4CD box set exploring the soul and disco sides of Neil Bogart's Casablanca Records. Released in 1994, this is dedicated to just their soul and disco sides, not the rock side so no Kiss or Angel. This was taken from the promotional version of the collection so no booklet, as it was packaged in a thick case (clam shell).

EAC Rip | FLAC with CUE and log | scans | 519 mb

Genre: funk, soul, R&B

Live P-Funk Earth Tour is the first and only official live album by Parliament, released as a double record in 1977. It consists of songs recorded during The Clones Of Dr. Funkenstein tour, plus a song and a cut-in made specifically for the album. The original vinyl pressing features an early Parliament song, "Fantasy Is Reality", which was left off of this compact disc pressing since its duration would have made it surpass the time limits of a CD. For the lossless version, I have added the FLAC file in a folder called "Bonus Track". The file was taken from the CD First Thangs, which I recently re-upped if you wish to read the EAC/technical info. For the MP3 version, it is included in the lineup as the last song, as originally intended.

Soundtrack to the 1983 American musical and romance film Flashdance, it sold more than 20 million copies worldwide. The film's three singles feature on the album. Two of these singles, "Flashdance … What A Feeling" by Irene Cara and "Maniac" by Michael Sembello, peaked at #1 in the U.S. Billboard Hot 100. The track "Romeo" by Donna Summer was released as a promo video to MTV prior to the film's release, composed only of outtakes from the film. However, the song was not released to radio as Summer was on the verge of releasing her 1983 album "She Works Hard For The Money", and the title track was already becoming a major hit.
