Belgian composer, keyboard player and educator Dominique Lawalrée, born in Brussels in 1954, studied music in Namur and began composing in 1973. With a name inspired by his love of The Beatles (I Am the Walrus, 1967), Lawalrée launched Walrus records in 1976 when he was only 22 years-old. Walrus was the vehicle of choice for the release of his own music, though he also published a great 2xLP compilation with Baudouin Oosterlynck, Eric de Visscher and Robert Fesler in 1984 (W.L.S. 012/13). Lawalrée’s music until the mid-1980s is a delightful mix of synthesizer exploration in the vein of Brian Eno and Roedelius, piano minimalism à la Satie, as well as personal ideas in the form of field recordings, sound collages and spoken word – for instance, his 1983 mini-LP Six jours à Barcelone (6 Days in Barcelona) included bird sounds.

Wave Repair 4.9.5 | 3.2 Mb

Wave Repair is a shareware editor specifically designed for the restoration of WAV files that were recorded from vinyl records. It can also be used to process recordings made from tapes, but its restoration features are intended mainly for records. The name is perhaps a little unfortunate. You might think that Wave Repair is a program for fixing broken WAV files (eg. with invalid headers), which it isn't.

Six brand new songs! The best part about a new Melvins album is that you're never quite sure what you're going to get. That's the genius of these guys! With Bad Mood Rising it's a tuned down rock and roll nightmare. BIG riffs and scary vocals. The album starts with ''Mr Dog is Totally Right'' which clocks in at over 12 minutes. This song also features guest guitarist Dylan Carlson from the world famous band Earth. What a treat!! From there it goes into ''Never Say You're Sorry''. It sounds like the way a big mean dog walks. Great fun! The rest of the album rounds out nicely. ''Hammering'' might be one of the catchiest songs the Melvins have ever written.

Formed in the mid-’70s by art school chums David Byrne, Chris Franz, and Tina Weymouth—and ex-Modern Lover Jerry Harrison—Talking Heads exploded out of CBGB’s punk breeding ground to become one of the most artistically adventurous and influential bands ever. Their visionary, polyrhythmic spin on rock fused elements including funk, African beats, Brazilian sway, avant-garde minimalism, pop savvy, and punk’s DIY aesthetic into a pioneering sound that was at once experimental and accessible . . . wholly inventive yet immediately welcoming. From 1977’s self-titled debut to 1988’s Naked , their work both unceasingly pushed the envelope and delivered massive Top 10 hits like "Burning Down The House."

English synth pop duo Pet Shop Boys have amassed a remarkably consistent and influential catalog, pairing wry cultural commentary with buoyant melodies and lush electronic arrangements that sound like no other. After first emerging in the mid-'80s with "West End Girls" and "Opportunities (Let's Make Lots of Money)," Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe quickly established themselves as hitmaking singles artists who were also able to craft emotionally resonant albums, like 1988's Introspective and 1990's Behaviour. The duo navigated the constantly shifting landscape of modern dance-pop with grace and intelligence, moving easily from disco to house music to thoughtful synth pop without losing their distinctive style in the process. Continuing to evolve artistically, Pet Shop Boys incorporated Latin music on 1996's Bilingual, expanded into theater and ballet, and eventually morphed into elder statesmen of electronic pop, producing an array of inventive late-period highlights like 2016's Super and 2024's Nonetheless.
