Frontiers Music Srl is proud to announce the signing of British rock singer Chez Kane to the label. A talented, young vocalist who fronts, with her two sisters, the band Kane'd, she was brought to the attention of the label after conversations with Danny Rexon of Crazy Lixx about the possibility of him scouting and producing some exciting new talent. Subsequently, Danny started working on some demos with Chez and the label did not pass up the opportunity to get involved with this incredible talent. Chez's debut solo album embraces the melodic rock style that both she and Danny so admire, while adding a new twist to the current takes on the genre.

Ensemble Caprice under the direction of Matthias Maute presents Joseph de Boismortier's baroque opera-ballet Don Quichotte chez la Duchesse, featuring singers Arthur Tanguay-Labrosse (Don Quixotte), Dominique Cote (Sancho Panza), Catherine St-Arnaud (Altisidora) and Geoffroy Salvas (Merlin and Montesinos).

Powerhouse Records is proud to present Fred Chapellier & Tom Principato "Guitars On Fire" Recorded live at the famous French Club Chez Paulette on their last tour together in 2011. "Guitars on Fire" is an outstanding live recording from Tom Principato and his French cohort Fred Chapellier. Recorded in France during one of Tom Principato's regular visits to Europe, "Guitars on Fire" really lives up to its name. Tom Principato is a world-class guitar player and just an outstanding musician overall. With this live CD release, Tom further reinforces his stellar reputation as both an accomplished guitarist and an expressful singer. Fred Chapellier has some great chords up his sleeve, he's got great passion for what he does, and he really holds his own well against Tom Principato.

On this unusual CD, the remarkable harmonica player Toots Thielemans explores a variety of mostly French melodies. The music is often nostalgic and wistful but generally swinging, with enough different tempos to hold one's interest throughout. The oddest aspect of the set is that there is an overdubbed vocal apiece by Diana Krall ("La Vie en Rose"), Dianne Reeves, Johnny Mathis, Shirley Horn, and a promising newcomer known here only as Chip; Krall, Reeves, and Chip sing in French. Thielemans plays beautifully throughout the relaxed date, which includes "I Wish You Love," "The Windmills of Your Mind," "Once Upon a Summertime," and "Moulin Rouge." Easily recommended.

Maison du Duke has issued a new CD – ”Mingus Chez Duke” – to the benefit of its members. It has 20 tracks from the appearance of the Duke Ellington orchestra at Bandbox in New York Jan. 30-Feb. 9, 1953. Mingus was hired and fired by Duke in 1953. I never suspected his collaboration with Duke was documented.
