Nature’s Great Events is a BBC nature documentary series broadcast from 11 February 2009. The British version is narrated by David Attenborough and is being shown on BBC One and BBC HD.
This is a documentary series looking at the most dramatic wildlife spectacles on our planet. We see the impact of the melting of the arctic ice in the summer, the annual return of the salmon to spawn, where the Okavango turns many thousands of miles into a lush wetlands. We also see the impact of the migration of wildebeest on a pride of lions, the annual winter sardine run along the coast of Africa, and the great feast in the ocean when the plankton blooms.

We got to know music composer Vic Van De Reijt on his previous compilations (with his hundred favorite French, German and 'Suri-Vlame' hits) as a man with an omnivorous taste in music, who managed to forge well-known and obscure hits together into a beautiful whole. The fifties are central to this compilation album. An exciting job, because there are quite a few fifties collectors in circulation. In the accompanying booklet, Van de Reijt defends his choices, especially to opt for the original versions and why he did not choose a Dutch repertoire ('they simply couldn't compete with other countries'). The five CDs are divided into one with instrumental songs, one with male and one with female soloists, one rock and roll CD and, the best, a CD with novelty hits.

Operation: Chrome And Ivory is the 2009 album by rapper Granddad Woolly but released this disc under the name MF Woolly. This was released on his own label, Granddad Entertainment.

1960 is the 2009 album by Soul-Junk, originally a one-man project from Glen Galloway, who changed his name to Glen Galaxy after leaving Trumans Water of San Diego, California. As Galaxy, Soul-Junk was a one-man project that later expanded to a full band. This was released by the Sound Familyre label. This pressing is from a promotional disc that came in a simple cardboard cover, so no scans for a full cover like the non-promo pressing.

Nonesuch Records releases a three-LP / three-CD box set of albums from the great Argentine composer, bandleader, and bandoneón player Astor Piazzolla – originally released by American Clavé Records in the 1980s and reissued by Nonesuch more than two decades ago. Astor Piazzolla: The American Clavé Recordings marks the first time this landmark trio of albums – Tango: Zero Hour, La Camorra: The Solitude of Passionate Provocation, and The Rough Dancer and the Cyclical Night (Tango Apasionado) – is issued as a set, now remastered, and is the first time the albums have been available on vinyl since their initial release on American Clavé. The set’s liner notes include original and new notes by the albums’ producer and American Clavé founder Kip Hanrahan as well as an in-depth essay from journalist Fernando González, who translated and annotated Piazzolla’s memoirs and wrote liner notes for four of his albums.
