In quale altro posto del mondo puoi trovare cassoni di cemento prefabbricati che divengono la culla di semi, germogli e nuovi frutti? Ciò che può sembrare una sfida impossibile diviene realtà con l'Orto del Centro Commerciale Campania di Marcianise, cittadina tra Caserta e Napoli, che prende il via nell'aprile 2011. Oggi, a distanza di dieci anni, questo sogno ha messo le sue solide radici non solo nel terreno coltivabile, arricchito dal compost derivato dagli scarti organici dei 25 ristoranti e bar del Centro Commerciale, ma anche negli occhi, nella mente e nel cuore delle migliaia di visitatori, ragazzi, educatori, tecnici, progettisti che ogni anno popolano e si prendono cura di questo piccolo, immenso spazio di 650 metri quadrati, una coraggiosa esperienza locale che trasmette il suo messaggio a livello globale come insegnamento per le generazioni future.

The second of DG’s series of seven Mozart operas conducted by Yannick Nézet-Séguin, and initiated by Rolando Villazón. This Così fan tutte enchanted the Baden-Baden Festspielhaus audience when recorded in concert in 2012, with Nézet-Séguin inspiring his stellar cast to feats of vocal derring-do.

Even in its opera-buffa manifestation, the utterly disastrous wife-swapping experiment in Così fan tutte so scandalized the entire 19th century, from Beethoven to Wagner, that desperate attempts were constantly made to conceal the work’s frivolity under any number of respectable rewrites.

Fritz Busch was one the greatest German conductors of the first half of the twentieth century, noted for his illuminating performances and his ethical principles. His father was a former itinerant musician who became an instrument maker, and his brothers were violinist Adolf Busch and cellist Hermann Busch. Fritz Busch went to Cologne Conservatory in 1909, studying conducting with Steinbach. The city of Aachen hired him as music director in 1912. He served there until the war began, enlisted, and returned at war's end to conducted the Municipal Opera. Six weeks later, he was appointed music director of the Stuttgart Opera.
