"What About Me?" is the 16th studio album by Kenny Rogers, released by RCA Nashville. The album's title track, "What About Me?", is sung in trio with R&B singer James Ingram and Rogers' former New Christy Minstrels bandmate turned solo star Kim Carnes, which is a love song that reached number one on the AC charts and was also a pop and country hit, giving co-writer Richard Marx his 1st #1 hit as a writer. Elsewhere on the album is "Two Hearts, One Love" by Byron Hill, "The Stranger" (a story song in the vein of Rogers' previous hits such as "The Gambler" and "Lucille"), "The Night Goes On" (a R&B influenced ballad) and "Crazy" (a song Rogers co-wrote with Richard Marx which is in the style of "Through the Years") that also charted and gave Rogers yet another #1 hit and Marx his 2nd #1 hit as a writer. Though this album didn't enjoy the success of his previous albums, "What About Me?" was a hit with its strongest showing being #9 on the Country music album charts during a chart run of nearly a year.

From the artist who brought us numerous hit songs including 'Wherever You Are', 'Barefoot and Crazy,' 'Love You' and 'Barbie Doll,' along with 'Seeing Stars,' an incredible duet with songstress Patty Griffin, comes a brand-new concept project from Texas native Jack Ingram. On his eighth studio album, Midnight Motel, Ingram finds the creative freedom to write his most expressive and emotionally raw songs to date. While the atmospheric yet, straightforward instrumentation brings a new found intimacy to the music of the artist who was named 'Best New Male Vocalist' by the Academy of Country Music in 2008. Midnight Motel ties together the razor's edge felt in Ingram's startlingly personal vocals and countless late nights spent writing music while on road.

The first piece “Fog Tropes” was composed in 1979 at the request of performance artist Grace Ferguson. Marshall (b. 1942) wanted to create a piece reminiscent of the fog-shrouded bays of San Francisco, so he went around the waterfront and made numerous field recordings of different fog horns. Now, the end result sounds nothing like the flatulent fiesta you’d expect after a piece based on fog horns. Marshall marries queasy drones, unsettlingly dissonant strings and the soothing, but authoritatize blare of the fog horn to create a noirish soundtrack to 3am on a lonely pier.
