Classic live album. Lotus is a 1974 live album by Santana. It was originally released as a triple vinyl LP and this is the only triple CD version. (the US version is a 2 CD set). Japanese-only limited edition Mini LP CD. Digitally remastered with superior sound quality. Long held as a talisman by Santana fans, who had to buy it as a triple-LP Japanese import before Columbia finally issued it on CD in 1991, Lotus is a live album that finds Carlos Santana and his octet (a.k.a. the New Santana Band) at a nexus between rock, Latin music, jazz fusion, and spiritually driven communiqués to the gods. Some of the early hits are performed, such as "Black Magic Woman" and "Oye Como Va," but long, intense instrumentals are the order of the day, as on the breathtaking "Incident at Neshabur," "Every Step of the Way," and "Toussaint L'Overture."

La Dusseldorf's Viva crystallized Klaus Dinger's progressive rock vision into a symphony of swirling guitars, rich keyboard melodies and driving percussive beats. The magnum opus "Cha, Cha 2000," will forever stand as one of the all-time anthems of futurist rock & roll.

Def Leppard dove into the classic-albums-in-their-entirety trend via an 11-date residency at the Hard Rock in Las Vegas, performing 1987's Hysteria from start to finish, adding other classic hits to round out the set. More interestingly, taking a tip from Joe Elliott's Mott the Hoople tribute side project the Down 'n' Outz, Def Leppard opened for themselves, performing as Ded Flatbird and running through rarities and early hits that they have rarely played live in the years since becoming superstars. These Vegas gigs were filmed for a limited-edition theatrical release called Viva Hysteria, which quickly appeared on Blu-ray and DVD, along with a double-CD soundtrack capturing the highlights…

A funky killer from this legendary European group - a record that's filled with as much funk and soul as the Latin elements you might have guessed from the title. El Chicles may have been a studio project, but they were a heck of a funky one - with hard drums, tight bass, and mixed-up Latin funky groove that was always pretty right on, no matter what the material happened to be! This cold little jammer from the early 70s features the group riffing hard on funky covers of "Viva Tirado", "Ode To Billy Joe", and "I'm A Man" - and grooving even better on the original tracks "Drug Bay" and the break-heavy "At Nee-Ko". There's some excellent organ in the mix, and the whole thing's packaged in a very cheesy cover.
