Jazz and blues vocalist Catherine Russell, a native of New York City, was born with distinctive bloodlines. "Bring It Back", her latest album, is a retro collection of tunes culled from the birth of jazz through the rhythm and blues resurrection, with a nod to the swing era in between. And if there is any singer with the kind of chops to sell this kind of musical variety, Russell is that singer. Not only does she have a voice like rich, aged brandy, not only does she exude the rhythmic joy the music demands, this is music that is in her blood. After all, her mother is the great jazz pioneer Carline Ray, and her father, arranger Luis Russell, was longtime leader of the Louis Armstrong band. With a pedigree like that, how can she miss? - She doesn't.

The two guitarists Catherine and Morello met in 2010 at the Burghausen Jazz Festival know and appreciate. In 2017, the two guitar virtuosos together with bassist Sven Faller founded an intimate and grooving trio. Now her first album "Manoir de mes Rêves" is released - named after a composition by European jazz pioneer Django Reinhardt. Much of the repertoire comes from the Paris of the 1950s and 60s, including compositions by Georges Brassens, Henri Salvador and Eddy Louiss, Philip admired since his youth. Even more recent material from the repertoire of the legendary Belgian singer Maurane or the famous bossa nova "Recado" offer an ideal springboard for the filigree interaction of the three individualists.

"The Six Wives of Henry VIII" is the first studio album from the English keyboardist Rick Wakeman, originally released in January 1973 on A&M Records. It is an instrumental progressive rock album with its concept based on his interpretations of the musical characteristics of the six wives of Henry VIII. Wakeman decided on the concept in 1972 while he toured the United States with the progressive rock band Yes. As he read a book about the wives on his travels, melodies he had written the previous year came to him and were noted down. Musicians from Yes and Strawbs, who he performed with prior to Yes, also play on the album.
